I don't believe he would "jump back to East TN." After all the years in Dallas, he has new "Roots." His family grew up in TX. I believe he is firmly rooted in the Southwest.Too bad we didn’t have an opening. Having a hall of fame tight end as your tight ends coach is about as good as it gets. Hopefully he would jump back to East Tn if the opportunity arose…
More than one thing can be true at once. OU certainly would love to get his son. But the TE position at OU has been horrible for the past several years. Finley was let go b/c he was unable to recruit and/or develop the guys who came in. An upgrade was desperately needed.Let's not kid ourselves. Oklahoma is making this hire to get his son. I think it's going to work.
