30 Jaron Toney TB 5-9 171 Fr. HS Alcoa (Alcoa) cant believe nobody offered this guy and he's walking on here. I mean good gracious you break the state record for td's in a season by seven and memphis doesn't even offer? sorry but when you score fifty freakin td's in a single season for ALCOA for god's sake, you have earned a scholly somewhere! everyone is so down on the talent in tn they're not even getting a chance. Glad he's at UT for sure, would like this walk on to get a chance to return kicks.. he obviously has a nose for the end zone

Alcoa's Toney still in search of a suitor Knoxville News Sentinel

durn sure couldnt hurt to try him out returning kicks. Those are the types of guys that always seem to be so hard to get a hold of.

i was wondering where he ended up. I knew it was a possibility for him to walkon but figured that he would get a free ride to somewhere like MTSU. Really didn't have the size for an SEC tailback last year but maybe he grows into it.

He is just so small! He better run a Chris Johnson type 40 or his azz will be grass in this here league!!! But I'm happy he is here and hope he earns a scholly!!

This would be sweet revenge for him if he turns out to be a star. Go from no offers to a stud at an SEC school.

Not comparing the two, but Emmit Smith wasnt zacly SEC size either. He did ok for himself.

Yep he's small but if this kid has a 4.4 or better 40 then he could be a major weapon! Demps is tiny too but he can fly and you mentioned Chris Johnson, he's small and I don't even have to tell you what kinda speed he has.

Maybe UT should seriously look at him. I sure would hate to see us miss out on another Randall Cobb.

Kid hits the hole quick and appears to be pretty shifty.. Looks like he might be a good return man, especially punt return.

Kids got some sick numbers, really sick actually, but I'm just not seeing the break away speed. He is fairly shifty, but just doesn't seem that fast to only be 165lbs. This is against AA talent in Tennessee, and he is just not getting much separation. That has to be what is hurting him. His speed is not that great to be that small. If you are going to be small and play Div.1 football, you better be able to scoot. I wish him all the luck in the world, and I'm glad he is walking on. UT has nothing to lose and maybe the kid can prove the doubters wrong.

I remember Toney running all over Maryville last year in the first game for Maryville. Alcoa did not run a single pass play that game. It was over in the first quarter. Maryville stopped Alcoa's run game on just one series.
