Seems pretty psyched about what he's seen from UT but doesn't have us on his list at Rivals..... any news on this kid?

Read an article on him yesterday that said he is really looking at us. I think rivals will update his last now after reading that.

I was guessing we would only go after 2 WR's this class.
am I wrong?

Stokes and Marlon Brown are it. Unless Randle wants to come aboard!

I would assume we would take a Rivals 250 player if he wants to come, as long as the coaches are high on him.

Henry County receiver Jamal Patterson collected his 22nd scholarship offer on Thursday when a Big 10 program threw its hat in the ring in the recruiting scramble for the talented junior.

“I got an offer from Minnesota today,” Patterson said Thursday evening. “And Tennessee offered me on Sunday.”

Patterson, who attended junior day at Tennessee last weekend, will get a taste of more orange this weekend when he visits Clemson on Saturday.

“Clemson is high on my list,” he said. “It’s only about 1 hour, 40 minutes away. I’ve been looking at their position chart and I know I’d have a good chance to play there.”

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver was impressed with his recent stay in Knoxville.

“Tennessee is football town USA,” he said. “It’s amazing up there. They have a great facility and an academic program that Peyton Manning donated a lot to.”

One of Patterson’s offers is from Florida. He plans to visit Gainesville on Apr. 12.

“I’m interested in Florida big time,” he said.

Patterson does not hold an offer from Georgia. But he still plans to attend junior day in Athens on Mar. 22.

“I’m interested in Georgia a lot,” Patterson said. “It’d be good if an offer comes, but if it doesn’t I have other options.”

Patterson Zeroing In On Eight
By Phil Kornblut

WR Jamal Patterson (6-3 202) of McDonough, GA said Tuesday night eight schools have emerged from his pack of over 40 offers as the ones he's most interested in at this point. Those seven are Clemson, USC, Stanford, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Central Florida and Tennessee. Patterson said he's certain of two official visits right now...Stanford and Central Florida. He also has decided to take in Clemson's game against Georgia Tech, and he said he will get to a game at USC. Patterson said Stanford, Central Florida and Florida seemed to be recruiting him the hardest, but he did talk a couple of weeks ago with his Clemson and USC recruiters. He said he does not have a favorite.

I saw an article on rivals this morning that had his list trimmed to six and we weren't on the list. It was UCF, Clemson, Aub., Ala., Florida, and Stanford.

Patterson has also begun to narrow his field in recruiting. He is now down to six schools and has set up two official visits.

"I will visit Stanford (11-15 ) when they play USC and I will visit UCF (9-6 ) when they play USF. I also like Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, and Florida.

Henry County High School (GA) wide receiver Jamal Patterson is one of Georgia's best in his 2009 class and the Rivals.com four-star recruit has made his decision to play on the west coast. Recently, GAVarsity.com sat down with the 6'3" 195lbs standout and discussed his decision to pull the trigger and commit to a Pac-10 program over others in the SEC, ACC, and C-USA.

The nation's number 41-ranked wide receiver ended months of speculation today when he committed to Coach Jim Harbaugh and the Stanford Cardinals.

I am impressed with some of the stuff harbaugh has done out there. I also like it when they stick a microphone in front of him.
