I hate when people make a big deal over things like this. Football players were/are/can be fans too and were long before playing in the league.

It may have not even been for himself.

He claimed it was for his mom but I agree with you, if he wanted an autograph from one of the greatest QB's ever then he's allowed to ask for it!

Definitely. It takes a lot of humility to actually do that, IMO. If anything, I have more respect for Jamal.

very silly IMO. No reason you can't be a fan. I'd get a ton of autographs

I am not a big autograph guy, but have no problems with it.

What I have problems with is Greenie being such a bit h

I would love to have an autograph and a signed jersey and a game ball too.

My friend Brian is the producer for Letterman and has a treasure trove of signed Peyton (and Eli) Manning stuff. Footballs, Jerseys, fatheads, pictures, you name it.

Not to mention all the stuff he has for other athletes and celebrities too. talk about a nest egg...

I don't see what the big deal is about Jamaal getting Peyton's autograph. I agree, media has run out of stuff to talk about so they search out stuff. So what? He got the autograph for his mom. All I see here is a son honoring his mother's wishes.

I agree about Greenie being a bit h! I recall listening to one of their shows and how Greenie was all excited and stumbling all over himself when he met Jennifer Lopez while on Letterman. Not sure what the difference is, except that Jamaal more than likely grew up watching Manning and thinking to himself, one day I am going to make it to the NFL.

Maybe Greenie idolizes J.LO and wishes he was like her.

Hell, if I was playin on the opposite team of Peyton Manning I'd ask for his autograph too. Even if I was on the same team, I'd still ask for it. He's one hell of a football player.

Maybe the timing was a bit hard for people to comprehend. Fans want the players to hate opponents and the fact is they generally have high respect for one another.
