Jalen Reeves Maybin questionable for UGA

The Vols offensive line has grew healthier...

Griffith must be letting 3rd graders proofread his articles.

“Coleman Thomas has been injured all year with ankles,” Jones said. “I’m sitting next to him in the training room a couple weeks ago, and he’s getting ready to play, and I look over and he has two swollen ankles that are black and blue, and that’s a young man that does not say anything.

And yet we bash that young man horribly.

I'm not going to go do far as to say we don't need him for UGA, but I'd rather he rest up and be ready for TAMU and Bama.

I was listening to the Zone in Louisville and a caller called in and asked Marques Maybin (JRM's Dad) about him but I caught the tail end of it. I'll have to see what he said. It sounded like he was really doubtful that he would be playing though.

We desperately need JRM and Kirkland back at some point. The other guys stepped up against Florida. Keeping my fingers crossed that they can do it again against UGA. But, over the long haul, we need those two back out there.

As an athlete, you need to know your limitations. Kudos to Thomas for having a high pain threshold, but trying to play when your ankles aren't functional, is really just hurting the team in the end.

JRM tried to come in Saturday, realized he was not going to be able to tackle effectively, and took himself back out.

I don't think JRM is going to be 100% until maybe he gets a full off-season for healing. Hope he can play effectively soon. We've got guys filling in admirably, but JRM is a difference maker, plain and simple.

I hope he doesn't play. He shouldn't have come in the game vs Florida. He needs to heal for Bama, etc and his attempt to play last week could have really prolonged the process.

Interesting, wonder what changed? Butch said JRM was full go the first of the week.

Think he said they were awaiting MRI results to be sure. Probably have those back now.

After watch him Saturday its not a shock. He's banged up more than they are leading on.

I agree. He was definitely hurting and limited. Made contact and couldn't wrap up or finish the tackle.

It may be true after all that Reeves-Maybin has a torn labrum and he's trying to play through it...................

I don't disagree, but Thomas obviously has the heart of a warrior, and those types feel like they are letting their brothers down when they can't go. So kudos to him and his huge heart.

The staff is saying freshman LB Daniel Bituli will play an expanded role, makes one wonder about the severity of JRM's injury. :dunno:

This injury has the feeling of a season long nagging injury.

He's got a bad shoulder, and one gets a strong sense that a couple of weeks of rest isn't nearly enough--and he may need surgery again, who knows. But I think it's going to be hard for him to play and be effective all year. It's too bad for us.

We need to beat Georgia even more so than either BAMA or tam. Going to be very hard after the next two games and florida to beat bama with no bye week until after bama. If we beat Georgia, we should win the East even if we dropped the next two. We lose to Georgia with those next two on the horizon then things could get ugly. At the beginning of the year, we would've picked Georgia and Florida as the two wins if we were told we would go 2-2 in that stretch. I hate bama and want to be them more than any other team we play. But we really need to win this game and then we pretty much win the east unless we screw up royally and lose to a really bad team.

I do agree if he can't wrap up like in the Florida game then we would be better off with the next guy up just like the situation with Thomas. I think we get Kirkland back soon but not Maybin.
