has completed 7-27 pass attempts under pressure (25.9%) this season. Derek Barnett is awaiting him.

Kiffin has simplified the game plan for hurts- high % of throws in areas with low degree of difficulty.

52% of Jalen Hurts targeted attempts have been behind LOS or to the left/right within 10 yds. He is limited with very easy throws.

Good job finding a potential weakness. Well done.

Better make hay with that because overall he's been very good with both throwing and running. He has elite weapons all over the place at skill positions.

He will literally be trembling on 3rs downs. The most hostile crowd in the world, Barnett, Taylor, Kongbo, Phillips.

Kid has shown great composure thus far. He's not gonna sit back there trembling IMO. He needs to be hit several times and forced off his spots so that he's uncomfortable and the clock in his head speeds up. But from what I've seen of him thus far, he's no shrinking violet.

Nb4 you post "yeah, but he's never played in Neyland before".

Not trying to rain on your optimistic thread, but I would imagine all QB stats would be worse under pressure.

Dobbs has made some bad decisions this year under pressure.

He's not that good at throwing, those throws are very high % throws, and the WR's are always open on those routes. The WR do the rest for him. He tends to under throw his WR on deep balls. His best trait is his legs and his ability to buy time for his WR to get open.

Wrong. Dobbs Is actually better under pressure. 7 of his TD's were thrown under pressure, most in the nation.

Most QB's don't have that much of a drop off either. Hurts is HORRIBLE under pressure

That all sounds so familiar....

I'm struggling to type this, but it sounds like a very good offensive coordinator putting a rookie QB into safe situations.

I hate Kiffin.

Read his 3rd down stats in the bottom right of the photo though... but yes i get what you're saying

That's because on 3rd down Kiffin dials up very easy throws for him. You can find all of Hurts games on YouTube. He's a good passer, but when he throws down field he typically under throws it

You are correct. It limits Hurts mistakes and the WR's are dynamic enough to make big plays after the catch

Hopefully, Kiffin call some long developing pass plays that give us time to pressure Hurts then.

Actually he typically overthrows it, but your point still stands.

I've been a tad baffled by Kiffin's tendency to either call bubble screens or deep throws with little in between. Hurts is actually really good at intermediate throws between 8 and 20 yards in the air. But they are called so rarely that it doesn't seem to matter. Maybe it had to do with trying to get some deep reps against mediocre competition, but it's a frustrating trend.

Hopefully he will be he hasn't so far. We have done a good job on WR screens and short passes this year and the year before. I think if we can stop Hurts legs and keep their WR's from getting tons of yards after the catch we win. That is of course if we hang on to the ball this time

Kiffin understands what he has compared to what he's up against. Im sure he will take a few shots given UT has given up a few over their head, but Im also sure he is calculating Barnett and Vereen into the time required to do that. Hurts has shown some limitations but Kiffin has also played away from those enough that they are still moving the football and scoring plenty enough points to win every game. Its not like Bama is winning 20 -6 on the back of their defense.

On that side of the ball it comes down to how well we cover and tackle 10 yrds from the LOS. And can you make Hurts look like a FR a few times in the game and make a play or 2.

I know the kid is good, very talented. He hasn't seen what he's about to see on Saturday, nothing remotely close.

We better be careful. Last QB that had such comments posted was that walk on from Texas Tech, then OK, baker mayfield. Pressure of Neyland didn't fold him/-players gotta get him on the ground
