It's crazy looking at that list and realizing that he's about to be in elite company. He's accomplished much in his short time at UT.

* Jalen Hurd 2,187

I know alot of those names shared playing time with the others listed but I also remember alot of those names breaking 60, 70 or 80 yard runs. To see Jalen is possibly going to do it in year three just shows you how tough he runs after being hit.

Who all has Hurd breaking the single season record, which is currently held by Travis Stephens at 1464 yds?

I think UT will spread it around a little more this season. I think Hurd will get it but towards the end of the season.

I want to say that he will get it against Alabama or the week after, all things considered. He only needs just a little over 100 yards a game on average and I can see him having several huge games against App State and Ohio. That leaves a little breathing room against better defenses to not have a 100 yard game.

I think the week after Alabama is about the most realistic timeframe, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him break it against the Tide.

I don't see this being possible. He would have to have an even better season then last year, and with how balanced our offense is, it doesn't seem like there will be enough to spread around.

Between Dobbs, Kamara, Hurd, and an improved passing game (hopefully) I think it's a stretch to see Hurd get to 1,500 yards.

I don't think it's too far fetched. It's only 176 yds more than what he had last year. I do however think, with a more balanced offense and Kamara probably getting a few more touches, it's going to require Jalen to pull off several big yardage runs this year.

With his improved speed and focus on missing guys in the open field, I think he does it this year. I think he lays it all out there this year to ensure a good draft grade. Plus, if we make the SEC CG, he has at least one more game in which to gain some yards.

I think he breaks several long runs this year. I agree with him putting it all on the line this year too. Why not. Have a huge year and go make that money.

Going to the NC game after the SECCG would give him two extra games to pad the new record too. :)
