Jalen Hurd on transferring from Tennessee (article)

I didn't say that at all. How was that evident? To the contrary, in my next post (the one I quoted) I even said that Michael Irvin, as well as other Hall of Fame WR's (including Jerry Rice), didn't have very good 40 times. In the initial post you quoted, my only point was that Larry Fitzgerald's time at the 2004 NFL combine was not accurately recorded. Reddit.com has a write up on how this happened...

Irvin was All-Pro in blow, however..

That's why I bolded the part of the post about "no matter who the coach is."

That's a different point vs. quitting in the middle of the season...which I agree with you.

There were others during the IBJ era that quit mid-season or at least tried to quit. One QB who recently transferred, a couple of offensive linemen after the now infamous IBJ "punch", and perhaps a WR.

That is how bad IBJ was/is...... Played mind games with his players - berated players - etc. IBJ is a punk and clown who should never be a coach again.

Hurd had more than he could stomach from IBJ. At least one notable former NFL coach put the blame for Hurd's departure squarely on IBJ.

Jalen obviously handled things very poorly, but with everything coming out about Butch it kind of makes more sense now. An immature kid made a very poor decision and is now paying the price for it.

I'm hoping Jalen has learned from his mistake and betters himself both on and off the field. Wish Jalen nothing but the best in the future.

I had no problem with him leaving. As I suspected, we were better with Kamara and Kelly.

But we weren't better. We were a much better offense with Hurd than without him. There's really no debate about it either.

You must have dreamed your claim

Uh, what?

In the seven games Hurd played in 2016, UT averaged 338 yards per game (4.93 yards per play) and 149 rushing yards per game (3.55 yards per rush).

In the six games that Hurd didn't play, UT averaged 567 yards per game (8.30 yards per play) and 271 rushing yards per game (6.96 yards per rush).

Even accounting for the fact that UT played worse defenses in the back half, 229 total yards per game and 122 rushing yards per game is a massive improvement.

Yep, we played all the best teams while Hurd was on the team in 2016.

I stick by my assessment as extremely accurate. What about 2015?

UT's offense scored more and racked up more yardage in 2016 than '15. You have a strange concept of "accurate."

Much better with Hurd? Thats a stretch. There is absolutely a debate. Butch barely gave AK the ball yetbhe still balled out. The only reason you even have a decent case is because Butch completely misused AK.

I didn't say Hurd was better than AK. I said our offense was better with him being here. A backfield with both Hurd and Kamara is better than a backfield with just one of them

They were Music City-level good with both/either of them. Let's raise our standards as a fan base.

Actually, we were a better team in 2015 than we were in 2016. We played in the Outback bowl in 2015 and beat the hell out of a team ranked 10 spots higher than us. Our offense absolutely trounced them. Many of our plays featured Dobbs under center and Hurd running from a classic TB position. That is what Butch promised more of in 2016 and we never did it.
