You'd be surprised what is written down as law still. They dont get rid of laws after they stop enforcing them b/c no one complains or cares. College kids usually get arrested for being dumbass while intoxicated. if you arrest a kid for UC and he is being responsible you are being a douche (of course you are UTPD so chances are high)

Arrested by citation. Wasn't taken into custody. This is honestly really stupid. These guys can fight for our country but aren't allowed to drink? Pathetic but a law is a law.

although underage drinking is illegal it is also stupid. As long as the "underage drinker" is in a safe spot and not driving around being a fool then they shouldnt be cited for underage drinking. The drinking age needs to be raised anyway. Were like one of the only countries in the world where it is over 18. Hell some countries you can be 10 years old and walk in the bar and have you a shot of liquor if you wanted to. Im fine with college kids drinking, as long as it doesnt take over there life and they become dependent on it, or they commit selfless crimes from alcohol. Teenagers are going to drink, always have and always will. Give them a break

When there is an arrest, the accused is taken into custody. If there was only a citation, there was no arrest. There is no such thing as arrest by citation. Tennesseean reporter needs to beef up on criminal law terminology.

If you are breaking the law, you're not being responsible.

If you are a cop and cite someone for underage drinking (because they are drinking and underage), you are not only being responsible, but you're doing what you're paid to do.

It's kinda the opposite of what you put.
