Jackson Lampley commit letter

Let's say Walker had been from some place like Kingsport, Chattanooga, or Murfreesboro. And let's also say Georgia had been recruiting him hard. And on national signing day, he threw aside the Georgia hat to commit to Tennessee. You would call him a class act and a hero.

Get over what Walker did; he did that to fire up Georgia fans. Quit being butthurt over it.

I would not say that. It's a punk move. I said so even when Tunsil did it to Bama for Ole Miss, even though I enjoyed seeing Bama lose out.

Tunsil did that to UGA. He was practically a Dawg lock and hadn’t even visited Oxford.

We need more men just like him. He will be part of something great. With a little time, Tennessee will be back. Pruitt has been around winners his entire career. CBJ followed Brian Kelly around. I think it's safe to say most of CBJ's success is at least partially credited to Kelly.

Very well written letter, and here's hoping that many more talented feel the same way that this young man does. He was impressed with CJP and the staff. We certainly do need talented OL.

Yes he was not a starter. Played some. Was Mr Kentucky coming out of highschool from Louisville. Was a big recruit. Just UT was literally stacked with NFL quality linemen at the time.

But not to disparage Brad, he played and was on roster....

He was a teammate of many, many great Vols during his time....

He's a VFL! An ambassador for UT.

He's currently on board of trustees I believe.....

Right, he is on the board of trustees. Brad Lampley was a legacy as well as I recall. 3rd generation Vol in young Mr. Lampley. This is one I didn't have a doubt about.

What if he drops to a 3 star (god forbid) will we say sorry kid, the stars just don't line up for you... Doesn't matter that you are still a really good player and person.
The stars must line up.

Sorry I'm just tired of this "stars crap".

While its not the end all be all for how good a player a guy will become like it or not "Stars" matter its just the way it is.

Its what determines the rankings more 4 & 5 stars the higher your class is ranked.

Good grief. The part about getting the chills...then the Manning quote. Got misty eyed!

THAT is what this about. The 2019 class will be one for the ages. Pruitt has assembled an elite staff if recruiters. It's time.

Thus the phrase is born to replace "soon".

Let's just hop he's better at football than his dad.

One of the top guards in the country. I assume he's a 5 star? So we should have one of the top classes in the nation for 2019 already. But seriously. ..its a good start.

No..he is ranked # 11 at Guard and #296 overall according to that article. He is a good player it looks like. I hope he blows up next year, we need really need some elite players.

Your moniker name is highly in error. Jesus taught believers to forgive as their Father in heaven forgave them. BTW, who's Cade Mays?

I have never been even slightly mad at Cade Mays or any other player for making the decision to avoid Knoxville like the plague. Watching the injuries pile up during the last regime is plenty reason to stay awa.y I believe he absolutely made the right move. Staying would have been the questionable result.

A kid has the right to going anywhere he won't but you just don't dis respect the coaches and team after leading them on for over a month, you just don't do what he did, he led the coaching staff on a long time they could have been using the time on another recruit.

Can you imagine if social media was around when Peyton decided to come here instead of Ole Miss?
