I've thought a lot about this since Saturday night, and I just want to remind everyone what things were like before CJH got here:

Heupel inherited a program facing major NCAA sanctions and a depleted roster. He engineered a quick and substantial turnaround, particularly evident in the 2022 season, which was one of the program's best in two decades. This ability to rebuild this program rapidly is a big reason to keep him, IMO.

And then, his "Go-Go" offense is known for being high-scoring, exciting, and difficult for opposing defenses to prepare for. This style of play is a major draw for fans and a highly effective recruiting tool for offensive talent, especially quarterbacks.

He has demonstrated an ability to recruit high-level talent, particularly in key positions for his system. As the team's success grows, recruiting classes have generally improved, suggesting a positive trajectory for sustained competitiveness.

After years of off-field player nonsense, we finally have a positive team culture, improved player morale, and good player development. He has seemingly unified the locker room and built a strong, cohesive team environment, which is crucial for long-term success.

We can't get caught up focusing on specific losses. Instead, we should emphasize the need for patience to let Heupel's long-term vision and recruiting classes fully mature. It is indeed time to circle the wagons and give ourselves the stability at the head coach position, which is vital for the program to reach its full potential.

It's time to "Circle the Wagons" around a good Christian man, one with strong leadership and principles. One who has made us proud before and will again.

Can't play the depleted roster and NCAA sanctions card when you get your tail whipped by vanderbilt....a school with a coach paid less than half as much, recruiting classes that don't compare and school resources that aren't in the same class.

Yeah that's swell, but this isn't an era of loyalty and pride and tradition. This is an era of transaction and performance and payment.

You aren't going to convince anyone who's written him off, and in fact, you'll probably just agitate the ones who want him gone to come back even harder with their arguments. Certainly not with an emotional appeal about principles. That's so foreign to modern college sports that it's not even relatable.

I'm not invalidate your point, either, as it's opinion and you're free to have it. I just think saying "we should circle the wagons" isn't going to sway people much to do so.

I don't want him fired, but he needs a major staff overhaul. There's plenty of other coaches who could win here, but this ain't the year to go looking. It's year 5, we know exactly what we got, what works, and what dosen't. Offense could use some more variations and defensive staff needs a complete overhaul minus Garner.

All this drama over an 8-4 (possibly 9-4) season. First world problems.
No, the drama is 0-4 against the only good teams. 1-3 in SEC home games (thanks to a terrible Arkansas team). And getting humiliated by Vandy!!! Not firing coaches, not showing any fire on the sidelines and so on . He needs to give us something to rally around!!!

The key to a successful HC is not only surrounding yourself with elite talent but also bringing in elite coaches. Can Heupel get elite coaches? Hell no when he won't cut ties with average coaches. If he continues with this level of loyalty, he deserves to be let go.

It’s time Heupel get his act together, realize the opportunity and resources at hand, embrace the tradition, and get the job done.

Or be gone!

He’s paid VERY well for his teams to show up and give their all.
Yes sir I 100% concure someone once said”never feel sorry for someone who owns their own plane! In layman’s term never feel sorry for a multimillionaire. Heupel is being paid as an upper echelon SeC coach but still acts as if he is coaching at UCF he definitely needs to get his crap together or be gone!!!

Does anyone actually know the long tradition of UT football ??!!

We've never had one single coach, not even Neyland himself, that has ever, ever averaged 9 wins or more over their tenure. Not one.

When it comes to average wins per season:

Fulmer - 8.88
CJH - 8.83
Bill Battle - 8.43
Neyland - 8.24

Those are the only 4 UT coaches EVER to clear an 8 game average wins per season over the course of their UT HC career.

Lighten up all you Nancies. Your current coach is #2 all-time thus far by the one SINGLE METRIC any of you care about.

Vanderbilt did very well in the portal, getting a ton of older and more mature players than most teams. Heupel might want to use the portal in a similar way. Obviously we recruit to a much higher level of HS guys so we don't want to disrupt that model. That being said, we might want to look at high level graduates from G5 schools when replacing our guys who enter the portal

It’s fair to point out that Heupel is benefiting from playing 12 regular season games. The twelfth being an auto win in the non-conference. Fulmer is the only other coach that got to play 12 regular season games and that was only in 5 of his 16 seasons.
