Sure, we've all taken some pride in the recent dominance of Bama and CPF's now 10-4-1 record against the Tide. But it's time for some intellectual honesty among the fanbase. Fulmer has made his living off of two coaches at Bama who are now either A. coaching high school, or B. back as a position coach in the NFL. Folks, neither of these goobs will ever HC again in Div I-A football. Period. Its actually more sad that Fulmer found a way to lose one of these games in the 8 he faced Dubose or Shula. So, where does that leave us? It leaves us with the fact that in the past 11 seasons, Fulmer has only faced an actual head coach at Bama 3 (THREE) times. What happened in those? A road win in 01 with possibly the most talent-laden team in UT history....along with 2 BLOWOUT losses, 34-14 in 02 and 41-17 in 07.

Folks, this won't change anytime soon. We want to talk about Bama living in the past...maybe we need to look at the man in the glass. The streak is over. The dominance is over. UT has now lost 3 of the last 6, and 2 of the last 3. Unless something gives, I fear another streak may have begun yesterday. My, how things have changed in such short time....like 2 ships passing in the night.

Please tell me you aren't trying to pass Dennis Franchione off as a quality football coach. If you are, let me know. It will save me the time of reading anything else you ever write.

Fulmer went 2-1-1 against Gene Stallings, who is roughly a 18,979 times better coach than Newsletter Dennis.

Stallings also knew when to get out. Hopefully Fulmer will do the same, albeit five years too late.

I wish he would too. No doubt Fulmer's a Vol thru and thru, and I admire the dedication he's shown Tenn over the years. I hope he will save himself and Tenn the disgrace of ending his career by being fired...either this year or the next.

I have a lot of great memories of Fulmer's tenure as HC...the winning streak against Bama, the high profile bowl wins (Ohio St. & Michigan), the 2 SEC titles, the undefeated season, and the NC...and I thank him for those. *sigh* But Tenn FB is not what it was 10 yrs ago, and it isn't going to be anytime soon.
