Dangit EB, stop being so freaking awesome. As much as I'd love to see you go no. 1 overall, I'd really hate to see you in a Rams uniform. Then again, I'm of the delusional mindset that he would fall to 5 and KC would take him.

A good pash rush helps your entire defense in the NFL. A good secondary can only take you so far. The rams would be foolish to pass Suh or Gerald McCoy. No offense to EB.

I kind of agree but that wouldn't be taking into consideration ST play at all. EB brings a lot of options and flexibililty with his style of play which are hard to measure.

I understand your point, but i am a steelers fan and i saw how detremental Troy Polamalu loss due to injury was to that Steeler Defense this year. That man is so dominant he is ALL over the field and i feel like in the right situation Berry could be just as valuable.

i'll argue that losing Aaron Smith hurt Pitt. more because several Steelers said Smith might be the most difficult defensive player to replace because he is so critical not only to stopping the run, but to keeping the line of scrimmage under control for the pass rush to work.

this: you need a good combination of both to be successful though. A good pass rush is useless if you dont have a good secondary, and a lovk down secondary wont hold if you dont get pressure on the qb.

Eh, not so much. Houston got Mario Williams, but look at them. In 2000, the Browns got Courtney Brown... Neither one of those teams has had what I would call a stellar defense. Doesn't matter though, cuz it looks like the Rams are going to trade their pick to Tampa Bay. What does that mean????

One guy does not make a defensive line. Mario Williams had 14 sacks his second year in the league and that was with him getting double teamed for half the season. And he had 12 the year after that getting double teamed the ENTIRE season. To say he's a bust would be far from the truth. And Houston was one win or another team losing away from making the playoffs this year. Courtney Brown got drafted by the Browns, THE BROWNS. That's not fair for anybody in that deal.

To address the Steelers fan. The Polumalu injury hurt for sure. I understand your point. Polumalu is a special player and lifts that whole defense up. Your front seven was really good last year. Like third in the league good. But your secondary ranked 16th in the league. I don't think that was a byproduct of your pass rush though. Pittsburgh needs to shop in free agency to get some better people around Polumalu so the drop off isn't so bad when and if he gets hurt.

Bottom line is that EB could be (will be) a Palumalu-esqe player in the NFL with the ability to be everywhere. But that type of player is so rare that I wouldn't blame the Rams or Bucs or whoever has the top pick for going with the safe choice and picking Suh or McCoy. And I think it is a proven strategy that the team with the best DL is usually in the playoffs every single year. And that's not always the case with good secondaries.
