Worked all day in the yard, then took the boat out, to find that the water is up (and that all of K-town was on the lake today!). My convertible comes in this week, and then it is ON.

convertibles are overated. congrats on the new car anyway though.

I completely disagree - especially if it's not your primary car. I've had a Miata, a BMW vert. and a Boxster. Everyone of them was a blast to drive and put a smile on my face every time :peace2:

Guess it depends on your style. One of my favorite "releases" is to throw in some great tunes and just go driving. I never sit in traffic (unless I get caught behind a tractor or a truckload of hay) on the way to or from work, and I hardly ever drive on the interstate. It's not for everyone, but I've always wanted a convertible. Plus, the hardtop adds the comfort of a sedan in the winter or on long trips. I think it's kind of a "best of both worlds" thing.

Anyway, should get it tomorrow or Wednesday. I'll post my thoughts once I get to spin it around town for a day or two.

Got my car today (of course, since it rained). Anyone interested in a high-performance convertible should test drive the 335. I'm in heaven!

Sweet, I need to take a look at that one before I head off to Chatt-town.

How's the trunk space - I saw that they have some kind of pass-thru.

Just wondering how much room the folding hard-top takes.

Did you get a manual or auto. I drove the 6spd 335 coupe with sports package. Amazing power all across the RPM range. Not as visceral as the M3 but basically as fast.

Did you get a trailer hitch on it to pull your boat around (Vol Navy)?:)

There is a pass-through (it's an option, but comes with the "cold weather package) that is designed to fit skis/boards or golf clubs, and it comes with an integrated nylon bag to protect the back seat.

Trunk space is actually decent for a convertible. There's a lift up divider that makes it much bigger when you don't want to use the convertible top. It's really designed nicely, and I think you have more room than with some traditional hard tops. You just have to see it in action -- ala Terminator.

You're right on about the engine. BMW has put the R&D in to max out the inline 6 with the twin-turbo. It is right about as quick as the traditional M3. Of course, the new M3 will have the V8, but from what I've read, with the turbo and the torque of the new design, there really isn't much difference in performance.

After a week of driving, I'm really, really pleased. You will be hard pressed to find a more well-rounded sports convertible for the price, especially if it will be your primary car (as mine is). The hardtop is phenomenal. Other perks include the awesome i-Drive navigation system and the convenience features (keyless entry and ignition, Homelink, memory on the seats and mirrors, and Bluetooth).

Fun, fun, fun.

If you're really looking, let me recommend a salesperson and store -- they were great to me.
