Barnett is one of the best defensive lineman that I've seen. He stays healthy to which is a key attribute. Can't wait to see him ball out this year, go vols!!

Well that can't be because a) PFF sucks, no self respecting coach uses their service b) they are always wrong, and c) they're all idiots,
whoever came up with their grading system has a screw loose and doesn't know anything about football.

They left out the fact that Barnett has performed MUCH better against better opponents. DB had 19 of his 20 sacks vs Power 5 opponents. Only 12.5 of Garrett's 23 sacks came against Power 5 opponents.

They just didn't want to expose him for taking games off and getting overwhelmed by lower level competition.

I will admit that I'm biased when comparing Vol players vs those players that made the wrong choice of school but I can also step back and just be totally honest and in doin so I think Barnett is the most disruptive and productive DE in the country that I know of.

Myles is a stud with a high ceiling and all the measurables and was also high rated coming out of high school as he should've been but when it comes to facing the best competition and sealing the edge, pushing the pocket, stopping the run, getting after the QB and just causing offenses probs, DB is better.

If DB took down all the QB's that slipped outa his grasp last year he would've finished with 15-17 sacks. He is a sack master but even with not getting them all to the ground he is damn disruptive and the best at TKL's and TFL. I think we are lucky as hell he is a Vol and I feel he will play himself into Vol folklore this year under Shoop and that aggressive attack.

And didn't Garrett have a lot of his sacks against OOC cupcakes where as Burnett earned his in SEC play? They think a lot about his few more sacks but I didn't realize how many more tackles.

I agree............ but it doesn't make a D*** bit of difference what they were rated coming out of High School. If they are the best DE then they are the best DE. I don't care what RIVALS or SCOUT thought they would be.

As a freshman, yes. He improved under Chavis last year and increased his sack total against SEC and P5 teams
