Butch at Tennessee


He may not be fired until November, but it's over. You can’t defend the guy, the only reason he had any success was because Dobbs could run his way out of trouble.


I appreciate his efforts, especially for rebuilding the roster and getting us a handful of nice wins.


This is year 5 for Butch.
Its year 2 for Kirby.


Let that sink in and I challenge you to tell me that Butch is the guy.

The good news, and thanks to Butch... is that we now have a good enough roster and finances to get a coach we don't have to google.

Yep. No doubt about it. He made a good run at it and did a good job rebuilding our program. But it's over

And seriously, I don't hate Butch. I appreciate what he did because he did get us off the mat, but he's never, EVER, going to win us any hardware. I'm not even sure he can win us 8 games unless he finds another Dobbs.

I don't want to be like all those announcers calling the ucla/a&m game.

But on a bright note, Tennessee can still win many games (its possible with the schedule) and Tennessee can bring in Chip, Patterson, Franklin, Shaw, Peterson, ect.

Tennessee deserves so much better. Tennessee football is a big deal, look at the environment before kick off today. Despite the adversity and 10+ years of suck we still show up. We care, we bleed for this program and at some point, if the administration doesn't start figuring some **** out, their biggest asset is going to be permanently impaired.

Tennessee would be stupid to wait a minute longer to release Butch. There are potentially a lot of big schools out there in need of a new coach this offseason and it's important that we get out ahead of them.
