about how Jr. Day is over the top for this new coach. The La Tech mafia silence is deafening and I believe it hurts our overall recruiting effort. perhaps it's because we are not on many top recruits list, maybe its because suddenly Dooley believes Tn is fertile recruiting ground but it is ridiculous that the head coach can't bring himself to give some news on our Jr Day, is it because he and his staff are incompetent or just plain blind to what it takes to get players excited about your program. never saying a word is not what should be expected, some of his media relations is not passing muster.

Dont hear much out of Sabin at Alabama and he does pretty good every year. I would think they are doing alot more than we know.

He's limited to what he can "legally" say without breaking NCAA rules on recruiting. We'll have to depend on the posters here on any news I'm afraid.

is it not possible that CDD is keeping in touch with all the recuites, and letting them know what is going on.Is it also possible, that he feels that you and I are no concern of his,and he feels that we do not need to know what he is doing.
Be patient, wait tell you see the product on the field this fall. thats all we really need to know.
By this time last year,Tn. had how many secondary volitations.this year, none.Everybody just needs to accept the fact that there is a chaneing of the guard at Tn. and just set back and enjoy the ride.:clapping:

who is really not a known head coaching product don't you think he would want to fire up potential recruits and the fan base with at least a little information. Look with all the coaches from La. Tech and other schools that aren't big time names it just seems an easy task to be a cheerleader even if only once in a while. See he hired another grad assistant from La Tech just fueling some people's opinion that he is in over his head and the SEC ain't the WAC. A little talk would go a long way IMO.

Dude, not everybody is Lane Kiffin. I seem to remember two coaches who followed this same path and have their respective programs excited by putting out a product on the field.

All that sabre rattling last year got was secondary violations. CDD was Saban's recruiting coordinator at LSU he knows what he is doing.

Why did Kiffin have so much time to talk to the media?

Huumm! Seems to me he would have been too busy running the football teams day-to-day operations instead of spotlighting for the media.

So who was really running the show, the brief stint kiffin was here?

The job of the HC is to coach football, administer the other coaches, overlook day-to-day aspects of the program. It is not spent in front of the cameras, basking about your own glory and demeaning better coaches while you do it. It is also not spending time wondering if Joe Blow poster has their morning fix of up-to-date recruiting news.

If you want for a media whore program, go watch USC. I'm sure you can get some info on how great their recruiting is going and how every other teams recruits will pump gas for a living.

Dooley isn't like Kiffin and I'm damn glad of it!!!

How many ways can we post the same thread?

A bunch it seems. Sometimes at least it's in creative, interesting ways. But not this time...same old whiny "I deserve some information!!!!" type thread. Gonna be a looooong 6 months around here until the season starts .:cray:

While I agree with most of what you said, I will say that I think once Kiffin had built the talent level to his liking I doubt he would have been media whoring. With his ego you never know.

With all that being said, I like the silence as long as we get results. All the people that said "Well Coach Kiffin gets 3 years" need to give Dooley that same 3 to 4 year time frame. JMO

Yeah....we've already been through this before. But, the amount of threads just shows the desire for more info. I agree with the OP on this one. It doesn't take 3 hours to give a 15 minute update on the team. This is not exactly a "dead' period with Spring practice coming up. And it IS the job of the HC to have good media relations.

Sounds like to me you should have said he doesnt know how to get fans excited, well informed/excited fans equals getting good recruits and being a good team,,,I think not!

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the fans and media criticize Saban for the same thing when he first came to Alabama? I think things turned out ok for them don't you?

See he hired another grad assistant from La Tech just fueling some people's opinion that he is in over his head

"Some people" need to stop for a second and think about how ludicrous they sound when they pretend to have any ability to evaluate something as obscure as a Grad Assistant.
