It's Official - No bowl

couldn't have hurt

Clawson's lead our offense to within one loss of the most losses, by a UT team in it's entire 100+ year history

This team will go down in history as Fulmer's team, not Clawson. You shouldn't select the losing years and say they belong to Sanders or Clawson, and then turn around and say 1998 was Fulmer's. You take responsibility for the good and the bad.

we didnt play well against our non conference opponents (2-2) only beating NIU and UAB. ugh.

why would you wanna see us got to a bowl game anyways?

i understand the money, the experience for the players and the exposure for the university but I am just wanting to put this season to rest and start focusing on rebuilding. its going to be a long road and we need to get started asap.

It's a shame, Clawson could bring a program to it's darkest level in only 10 months

I see your point but do you really think Fulmer would've stepped down before the bowl game? Because I personally don't think that would've happened. He's too stubborn to not embarrass our program even more in a bowl game. I think it would've just complicated our existing problems, prolonged our chance to search and find a suitable coaching replacement, and give our recruits another few weeks to be swayed elsewhere.

What I was trying to say is I doubt he would have even got the chance to coach in a bowl. The however many weeks of practice in December would have been golden to the new staff. Its like doubling your spring practice.
