It's can we continue to play up to that level the rest of the season. I'll take a loss to a top ten team if it means we can win more than we lose this year.

Unlike the 10-7 loss to LSU in Dooley's first year I do not think this was fools gold. Completely different game, and a sign that the light bulb has come on.

I feel you are correct. This was the most exciting game I have seen Tennessee play in years. If they can play with this much intensity for the remainder of the year we might make it to a bowl game. This was great confidence builder for the team. The coach's should be able to use this near miss to point to the rest of the games and say if you can play the #6 team in the country to a three point loss in overtime and we lost the game on Pig going all out to get the win, then we should be able to at least win three more games and get to a bowl game. The best part of this near miss was it was not due to having 13 men on the field. Go Vol's:good!:

Will UT play like that the rest of the year? Probably not.. But it is good to see they have the ability. They know they can hang with some good teams now so it is up to Butch to have them emotionally ready for the game. All between the ears!

I really hope you guys are right but I don't want to get to excited and have a big let down. I'm taking it one gm at a time. GO VOLS!

Everybody needs to take it one game at a time. Volnation is a haven for cliff jumpers and sunshine pumpers. Things are great or down right horrible. Get over it and chill

Lets just welcome PROGRESS and be fans. We can curb expectations as well as comparisons to the past. We are gaining ground and improving, regardless.

a top ten team that had like their top 5 offensive threats out. but yeah.

Strength and conditioning to prevent injuries is part of the game. Football is not played on paper. We also had players out with injuries that may have made the difference in a few yards. A Few yards determine which team wins in a game like that.

We had many things go our way against Georgia and they were playing without their top 2 RB's. Winning more than we lose this year is indeed a tall order. While it's possible for us to finish 7-5 or 6-6, I'm afraid we'll need more breaks like we had Saturday and the 3 4th down conversions, blocked punt ect. We must also realize how tough it is winning on the road in the SEC, even for the best teams. Just last week we were debating whether this was the worst Tennessee team of all time, so I hope fans can keep expectations in check this year and not get too down if things don't work out as we wish.
