Flame away, but TSIO is one of the most overrated rivalry games of all time. And I'm not saying that because they've won 15 in a row.
It does have a long history and tradition, but this year's edition of this rivalry is unusual. Both teams are good at the same time and the game has big SEC/national implications. Look at the history of the rivalry - games like this are quite rare. For the most part Tennessee is bad when Alabama is good, and vice versa. The outcome of the game rarely is impactful beyond bragging rights to one of the schools.
It wouldn't shock me if the Alabama-Tennessee series went from every season to once every four years.Flame away, but TSIO is one of the most overrated rivalry games of all time. And I'm not saying that because they've won 15 in a row.

I think it'll get kept if we move to a pod system as one of the "protected" games. It does have a lot of history and is one of those few matchups that is the epitome of SEC football, but it rarely is a high stakes game that has SEC or national title implications. You would think that it would be, given both Alabama and Tennessee are historical powers, but for whatever reason both teams are rarely good simultaneously. It wouldn't shock me if the Alabama-Tennessee series went from every season to once every four years.
