It's happening [Dark Mode]

I like the black.

But there are so many BIG ORANGE combinations the school could be trying fit.
It is a beautiful color...

Butch did do a great job at that. Really liked our uniforms while he was around.

I "could" win the lottery tomorrow night "could" I not? If the players want it then I understand that. I guess it "could" help us recruit better than Saban. I just don't believe it will. I along with two siblings graduated from UT. I will always think of UT as orange and white. I have little doubt that if we let the players pick our colors it may change to black and orange. Like you say it is their decision. They also asked for Mickey D bags full of cash. And they got that also lol.

So what about bringing a fallacy to an argument again?

Firm……no comment it was.

Again…….you keep moving the goalposts. So now it’s about “recruiting better than Saban.”

Tennessee isn’t going to out recruit Alabama right now……orange and white or orange and white with a black thrown in there.

I defend my position, you might want to actually try that……instead of simply changing to a different one.

Allowing the kids to wear black if they want can help in recruiting. Not doing it can’t help…..period.

Bringing more excitement however the program feels should help in recruiting.

If you don’t like it that’s fine.

Not moving the goalposts, you keep saying wearing black helps in recruiting. I don't believe it will. That's wear we differ. I think beating Bama would help. Beating GA would help etc. Beating Ole Miss would help. Ive been consistent. There is no proof that wearing black jerseys helps recruiting no matter how many times you imply it will. Winning football games will. Obviously it excites you and obviously it doesn't me.

you certainly did.

First you say it doesn’t help recruiting.

then you say you don’t know any recruit who came to Tennessee because of it.

Then instead of “helping” in recruiting, it was……out recruiting Saban.

You certainly moved the goalposts.

You certainly brought fallacies to an argument.

I backed my argument with they how and/why……..you simply said it wouldn’t, then …..well I don’t know anyone……then……well we wouldn’t out recruit Saban.

1. Just because you say so isn’t fact…..or an argument.

2. You don’t know any player who is on the team who joined or didn’t because they would or would not wear a black jersey at some point.

3. The argument was about gaining or helping in recruiting……not out recruiting Saban.

4. I never once said wearing a black jersey helps with recruiting.

All fallacies. Your simply making stuff up, changing stuff, or simply saying something as a fact.

Heck if you want to debate that’s cool; however if you don’t know how…..why keep doing it.

this isn’t about you, this isn’t about me, let them have their fun and give it a rest……go read a debate book, learn about fallacies, learn the difference between fact and opinion, learn about presenting actual material to strengthen your argument.

This is one of those issues that really brings the narcissist out in people. It's a shame, because without that we could actually just enjoy a fun experience. But, no, the ones who think they are ultimately right about everything and take themselves way too seriously must be a stick in the mud.

Getting a new uniform every once in awhile is fun and exciting. Not unlike getting a new outfit or pair of shoes for yourself. Or for some of us, it's like when we get a new gun. People like it. Human nature.

Relax. Have fun. Enjoy the moment.

Might be more alternate uniforms to come:

‘Dark Mode’ just ‘first rendition’ of alternate jerseys for Vols under Heupel

“First meeting that I had with the football team the day that I got introduced. I told you, we spent an hour and 15, hour and 30 minutes in there talking about a lot of things that matter, some things that they felt like were important,” Heupel said Thursday morning. “Jerseys were at the end of that conversation. To me, the player experience is at the forefront of everything that we do, right?"

"Heupel made it clear neither he nor the players want to veer too far away from Tennessee's classic orange-and-white look, but it's worth noting the Vols have worn four different uniform combinations in five games this season. In three home games, Tennessee wore its traditional setup against Bowling Green and Tennessee Tech either side of going with the all-orange combination against Pittsburgh. The orange pants returned with the road white jerseys at Florida, but the Vols went with the all-white "Stormtrooper" look at Missouri.

Those decisions aren't up to Heupel, who joked that is a good thing for the program, but he also said Tennessee regularly will have an alternate uniform available each season and suggested the Vols could continue to opt for different combinations including the black uniforms for the rest of the season.

“Boy, you’ve seen me at these press conferences. Me picking out every design of a uniform is probably not the right way for this program to go, you know what I mean?” Heupel quipped."

Espn seems to like them:

"The Tennessee Volunteers unveiled new threads for their game against South Carolina. The team has entered "dark mode," utilizing black as the dominant color on their uniforms. Orange is the complementary hue, being used for the jersey number and decals. However, their helmets are still white and sport the traditional "T" logo. The white actually works pretty well with the Volunteers' combination this week."

Why gotta be “better than Saban”? How about a nice even…better? Baby steps > extreme strawman rant.

I'm all for the ole orange and white but I think this will look amazing. Look at it from the player's point of view. Maybe they (and I) think it looks badass. Maybe that will make them feel more badass, then they play more badass. I know when I played sports, if I felt like a full-throttle badass, I was one.

I actually should have…..backed up.

It just burns me when folks start “making stuff up” out of the blue, or simply changing stuff up. Heck simply refute my argument, or bolster your own.

But again……I should have at least put it in neutral there a bit.
You were perfectly fine…just messin. 😎

Rewatching the game now. My thought is that helmet would look amazing with our 90's/00's away unis with black outlined numbers.

I’m glad but forreal that helmet needs to be black with an orange power T, no white. Matte black would be even smoother. Maybe make the stripe checkered but don’t get too fancy. The white helmet throws off the all black look.

They've been trying to get black helmets for it. Hopefully we have them this time.
