Last year while doing a high school football game I got a cut while unloading the equipment. It gave me a serious staph infection that got in my bloodstream and couldn't find any antibiotics to fight it for over a month. I missed nearly 2 months of work and was in the hospital some. I was to at least take another 1-2 weeks off of work but I came back early. Why?

Because the Saturday before I went back I had UT/Bama tickets. Some people say if you are under "insert age here" you don't understand the UT/Bama rivalry. I'm 27 so I'm not a pup anymore but I grew up in the Florida/UT big game era. I still always considered Bama our #1 rival no question. I hate Bama - and I wasn't going to miss my first ever chance to experience "THE GAME." I dragged myself out of the house for the first time in nearly 2 months to go somewhere besides the doctors office or hospital. I done this because I hate Bama so much and was looking so forward to my first trip to UT/Bama that nothing would stop me from getting there. I was weak enough to have to stop nearly every 2-3 minutes walking the 2 miles to the Vol Walk. When the game started I screamed with a passion for my Vols to BEAT BAMA. It was the most pleasurable sports experience I've ever had in person. I hated Bama enough to go through serious physical pain, exhaustion, and agony just to be there and support the Vols against them.

So, to anyone who says that younger people doesn't understand the importance of the 3rd Saturday in October please don't think it's true for everyone.
