In TENNESSEE :rock::rock::rock::rock:


We are 4 weeks away Nation. For the first time in more than a decade I truly feel like we are going to take the SEC and possibly even the NC. It truly feels like the 90s to this Vol. We have waited many years for this Nation and I can say this in full confidence Its OUR TIME now

I agree--Finally! I wonder how this team, strength-wise & experience-wise compares to that 1998 team? Peyton didn't win it in 1997 but Tee Martin did the next year. I'm just wondering if this maybe compares to the 1997 team and we will have more depth & experience (seniors coming up thru Butch's system) next year. Some of you guy's probably have the data to compare and might give us a clearer picture of how we stack up to those teams. Man, it's been a long, long wait but I think we have the right guys & coaches in place for a top-level run for a few years as long as the recruiting keeps up. :good!:

I don't have the data at hand, but I can say this in all honesty, the, the 95 - 2001 teams were all championship caliber teams. It actually kind of sucks that we only won one during that time frame. Is this team as good? I really can't say right now.

I mean just at RB, we're trying to compare Hurd, Kamara and our QB to Lewis, Henry and Stephens (my personal favorite of all of them). That's just one position. Those guys won the championship....we're hoping these guys do.

I hope the defense this year is comparable to the '98 team. I agree, we are set up for a good run, feels good to think about that.

I would throw that 99 squad in there to. I would argue that it was more talented than the 98 team, but just didn't have the fire in the belly. It's just really hard to repeat.

I would also throw in the 92-93 and 2001 Vols as teams who had the talent.
