Let's recap
- Guys weren't motivated to play the season home opener in front of 100,000 fans. Understandable against a team that won 11 games previous year.

- Vanilla game plan. Because we didn't want a mediocre ACC team getting a bead on what we do. It's not like more talented teams just line up and beat the lesser one in front of them. No, it's gotta be sneaky...

Where's the commitment from our staff to utilize the talent available?
Are yall watching Tom Hermam/Major Applewhite's offense in Houston?
The QB, Ward is a special player...and basically a smaller Dobbs. Houston does not have the offensive talent that Tennessee does.

Where's the commitment too having a dominant offense?

HOW MUCH $$$$$$$$ DO YOU SPEND ON TENNESSEE FOOTBALL?

If the only reason you care about Tennessee football is your abstract monetary investment in it, you maybe should seek commitment elsewhere.

Your monetary investment means a lot. It's easy to throw that out there if you don't have anything invested.

If it weren't for the fans and their "abstract monetary investment", then their would be no Vol football to follow. Somebody lays out a good bit of money to attend, then they can complain about the product on the field.

I think it's a misplacement of priorities. That's like saying I love my children because it costs a lot to raise them.

I'm flipping channels watching multiple games. I'm baffled by why we can't come up with more in the passing game than what we have seen last year and game 1 this year. Seems we have trouble just finding space.

I think you are making some very bad comparisons, there.

BTW - Show me one parent who hasn't bitc..d about the cost of their kids.

Houston is playing Oklahoma, not App St. Of course both of those teams are going all out and deep into their own playbooks. While I disagree with how vanilla CBJ and Debord were I also wouldn't want show my hand as much as either of those teams are having to do in the first game.

How so? The OP implies that the financial aspects are the reason it matters. I love Tennessee football. It's unconditional. The components of which its comprised change on a yearly basis and there are results that are unfavorable on every single play. The underlying pride and joy in being a Tennessee Volunteer should be unwavering.

The OP was saying with the money we as fans invest, we have the right to expect more than what we saw Thursday night.

That's valid.

Look, I'm don't know how much you spend to attend a game, if anything, but if fans layout an investment to attend, and see what we all have said is a lackluster effort, then questioning if the investment is wise is fair. Once again...if the fans stop buying tickets and going, we'll be in the Dooley era again.

Not going to argue with anyone who spends the time and money to go to a game and feels let down due to the product...it's a business, as much as you hate to admit it. They are the customers. No customers, no business.

Houston's QB is much more accurate than Dobbs.

Ware only plays for Houston. What about all these other teams that find ways to get guys open in space. Quick hitters. WR screens. Come on. Where is the imagination in the passing game?????????

I committed to watching my Vols, even when I believe they made an incredibly poor choice in hiring Debord.

I myself donate to the university.
That doesn't make me more of fan.

This is a crazy, but very LOYAL fanbase. And we deserve better than what we saw Thursday!!! How can anyone say any different.

Outside of donations I spend over $2,000 grand each year because of UT football. But UT football is a huge part of our lives, so 2 Gs aint nuthin. Im sure most of you would agree.

But there are some people on this board that spend waaaay more.

Not to mention the sheer TIME we spend involving UT football.

This logic is futile. Why not make the next opponent prepare for more? It makes it harder on them to put a lot on film they have to prepare for.

If debord doesnt call a better game next week and find that bowl game creativity, he shoukd be put on a greyhound back to annarbor.

Here is your answer. No offense will look good with O line play that bad. I only hope it's a one game fluke and they can get back to at least what they did last season. If not, head are going to roll and we are back in the store ages in terms of relevance
