I agree...with the current situations Tennessee will be the "pick of the litter" for coaches and should be able to get about anyone they want...nice read.

Basilio just claimed that Tubbs is letting it be known through the back channels that he would be interested in talking about the UTK job.

I would be shocked to see Shannon let go at Miami, he looks like he's taken control of a very young team, and seems to be recruiting well again also.

I'm not saying Tubbs is my #1 candidate but the fact that he is interested pokes at least one whole in the Who you gonna get? argument.

Not that the job doesn't have appeal but is there a team in the country with a higher negative recruiting base/expectations ratio than here? (Nebraska?) Throw in the fact it's the SEC and this job isn't for the faint of heart.

I'm not poormouthing us, just saying we're likely one of the higher risk/reward programs when you take recruiting and competition into consideration.

So you are in favor of continuing down the same path we are on now?

Look at Tubbs record against top SEC competition and look at Fulmers. He hired a crappy OC and he got rid of him. For you to say that Fulmer is as good as Tubbs is ridiculous.

Tubberville is no fool. He sees the talent here and knows he could win right away with it. I bet behind the scene's, there are alot of coaches salivating over the prospect of getting their hands on this program and the talent thats here.

I about promise you, if we were to get a coach in here that knew how to motivate. You would see a tennessee team that suddenly could tackle, run a play without a penalty, hand the football off without the qb and rb tripping all over themselves. What were witnessing is pitiful and shouldn't in no way be excused. Our coach makes 3 million dollars a year. Put a team on the field that looks the part, thats all i ask.

I have a strange feeling that his asking price would be more than we are willing to pay......we shall see. I don't think Ears is ready for the Knoxville pressure cooker.
