At one point in the 2nd quarter last night, I just lost it & went outside for a walk to cool off. I'm so sick of Florida and their fans and the way we just give games away to them annually. But as bad as our guys played and as bad as the coaching was (no blitzes on D and insistence on running up the middle on 1st & 2nd down), there's no way I'm giving up on Pruitt.

I tell you when I saw him going for it on 4th down a few times and when he attempted that on-side kick, I said then and there, "That's our coach!" If he can maintain our recruiting class after a disastrous season, he's the guy. Heck, I even liked it when he kicked the whiteboard on the sideline. Here's a guy who's not used to anything but national championships and it's understandable how frustrated he is with our guys (especially our soft OL). These guys are going to learn to play up to the "STANDARD" or they'll leave. I just hope we can keep him.

Commentators said it looked desperate when he made those calls. Seems to be his coaching style in my opinion. He’s showed a tendency to gamble in every game so far. Shows his team that he believes they can make a fourth down. I’m not big on gambling calls, but it does keep it interesting.

Those commentators were being absolute morons. The 4th down pass was a fine idea, the kid just didn't secure the ball. He makes it in or gets a first and goal out of it, they'd be saying how much of a gamer Pruitt is and how he's not afraid to make big play calls to keep his team in the fight.

It's also pretty moronic for those idiots to blather on about how Tennessee isn't relevant and won't win 6 games this year, and then blast the coach for "desperation" because he tried to give the team momentum or let them make a play. The sort of people who'd be comfortable with 8-4 every year and get on message boards saying how happy they were their team didn't make any mistakes in a 24-14 loss. Morons.
