So I have a mason jar full or red caviar. I am craving the caviar and it is a matter of necessity for me to consume it ASAP.

Problem: Said mason jar has the wire clamp mechanism, which I opened, but the lid is still stuck to the mouth of the jar (it has a rubber lining in between) and I can't pry it open.

Exact likeness of item in question:

Any tricks from you canners?:)

Run some hot water over it. Who keeps red caviar in a mason jar?

Note: Red caviar in a mason jar would make a funky title for a song.

The Germans, apparently. That's where it was imported from. I've been told that it's illegal to import Russian groceries made in Russia into the UK, so they get all their stuff from suppliers in Germany.

Take your mason jar to Amsterdam and trade your red caviar in for something that actually goes in a mason jar.

Just talked to my mom who said that in Siberia they used to keep it in mason jars too. My grandpa used to bring it home from his trips (he was the captain of a trade vessel on the Yenesei River for many years) in huge three liter mason jar. So maybe the Germans aren't too crazy after all.

In any event, the Russians have prevailed over the Germans yet again. Yet again employing the crudest of methods.
