Went and saw this movie tonight.

Overall it was pretty good. Had some crappy CGI moments but other than that, it kept me interested all the way till the end.

Much better than the original IMO.

Made $13.5 million last night alone. On pace to be the biggest September opening ever.

Pretty spot on. Why Hollywood continues to insist on using CGI in horror films I'll never know. It's not needed and this film was no different. I loved pretty much everything about the movie other than the CGI. The new Pennywise is great, which is impressive considering that Tim Burton was about the only good thing about the original. I loved the atmosphere, the casting, the pacing, the dialogue, etc. Oh and the actress that played "Beverly," she's going to be a star.

What was the bad CGI?

Hell..I can't even imagine what CGI they needed in the first place. Please tell me it was CGI blood..that is the worst.

It's kind of hard to explain without giving away spoilers. If you haven't seen it yet I don't want to ruin it for you. Just trust me though, you'll know it when you see it.

I'm not saying any of the CGI was "bad" per say. I'm just saying it's not necessary, in horror films especially. It always pulls me out of the moment when I see it. I'm fine with CGI in Sci-Fi, fantasy, comic movies, etc. That's to be expected. But for everything else, especially horror, practical effects should always be used IMO.

Not sure I will see the movie, but I bought the book this weekend. Looking forward to it if I ever get the time.

Went and seen it Friday night after watching the original for the first time earlier last week and I loved it. I'm wanting to read the book and will probably get it this upcoming weekend. I thought it was solid. My fiancé loved it.

I went and saw it tonight. I thought the kids did a great job as actors, but I just don't do horror films. I don't like to see people be terrorized. I can handle watching people get blown apart in Saving Private Ryan, but I can't handle watching a clown terrorize a community. I guess I'm weird.

Saw IT this past weekend. I'm not a horror movie person, but this one was really good. I can't wait until part 2 comes out.
