I remember reading an article in the fall of 2016 about how set UT was. We had verbals from Hunter Johnson and Tee Higgins. Most thought we had a chance at Amari Cooper and most thought we had a good chance with Trevor Lawrence. TL grew up a UT fan and admired Peyton Manning. Only Botch could screw up this situation. He did far more damage to future UT football than DD. I think BJ stated that TL did not fit his system. Well he got that right TL is a winner.

Mike Hamilton replacing Coach Dickey was the trigger for this decade plus disaster. Whoever chose Hamilton is to blame, as was Hamilton for choosing Dooley and Jones. When things went bad they didn't sack Hamilton, the change and thus the obvious reason things were going south, but Fulmer, who had coached UT to one National Championship and unlucky not to be two (wish they had 4 team play-off when we lost to LSU who we had beaten). He could recruit off this, Hamilton and nobody Dooley, who could they recruit?

100% true story, the day a good friend I know first met Dickey's replacement Hamilton, I saw him immediately after and he was quite literally in a state of depression/shock. He said this guy is nothing like Dickey and this is going to be a disaster and this place is going to go downhill fast. Never were truer words spoken. But again I don't blame Hamilton but the person who didn't replace Dickey with another Dickey, but someone obviously do different. Others here might explain why my friend said what he said and elaborate on what these differences were and why (as I believe) they have created this disaster?

However reading Hamilton's Wikipedia first two paras you'd think he'd actually been AD at Alabama and there seems to be a new definition of the word "heights":

"Appointed to the position of director of athletics in 2003, Hamilton's stewardship of the Tennessee brand continues to ascend to unprecedented new heights."

First, the UT must show that their Administration has their arse in proper gear. And its foot on it's own athlete program's neck. I wouldn't want to play for a program either that seems to not know what it's doing. Always rebuilding. Always in a coaching carousel. And that's just for starters.
