Am I the only one on the board that actually relishes the disappointment. It has been a long time since I actually expected to win. The pain helps me know the Volunteer spirit is alive and well.

With apologies to REK "It feels so good feelin' good again!"

Great point. It's kinda nice to feel that sting again.

I'm right there with you, very disappointed on Saturday. It would be nice if they could redeem themselves on this Saturday....

I only threw mine once on Sat and my dog went and got it and brought it back to me. At the time it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen :p

even with all the losing last year, i never stopped feeling it. i can't help myself but think we will win every game. to me, logic and reason don't have any place in fandom.

It is nice expecting to win again. Even with Crompton back there we think we have a chance. FL not so much but I am going to be pullin like heck for our guys on Sat.

Agreed, Lex. I actually had hope, even at the end. This program is moving up. CLK will get these problems fixed (as well as he can with given talent). I imagine JJ will be having tackling drills ALL week. In the past, we would see the same missed tackles the following week.

When the UCLA redshirt QB threw to the FB as he was being hit by 2 Vols, and the FB scored...I let out a pretty good string of profanity. The wife came running in and said what??!! Oh.....

This is me as well. And so, no, the sting from Saturday was not a welcome change. It wasn't a change at all.

question for some of you level headed Vol fans..do you think UT should change its Offensive system and philosophy..like trying the spread offense, etc?

I wouldn't mind seeing a few sets...

But as a whole no. One of our main recruiting tools is the ability to offer a Pro-style offense to assist the top level players who want to play in the NFL.

Just a couple sets here in there to give a different look. All this of course is contingent on it being a QB other than JC.

I think it will happen with Jim Chaney being on staff...

no because that's not kiffin's bread and butter. we just gotta wait til we get the players that fit his system and we'll start seeing results. i do think that the coaches must be able to make some in-game adjustments (duh, i know) in order to do as well as possible. however, i wouldn't mind seeing coach kiff come up with some packages with spread like elements for the players that could succeed in them, so we have some gimmick plays.

Disappointed because I expected to win? This is how I felt after last year's game against the same team. Both years, it seemed like we were on the verge of blowing them out, and then...

I threw my stupid remote across the room and still can't find it. I was extremely disappointed especially at the end when we could have won it. I like this feeling! :)

I don't like this feeling at all. It wears upon me. Unfortunately, every effort to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear at the QB position (and what else can you do but make the best of a bad situation) has not had an effect and it will be at least a year before we can hope to be as effective on offense as we are on defense.

I guess it's good that I'm pissed after the loss Saturday. Unlike last year when I got to the point that I didn't even care they were playing. I'm usually not a fair weather fan being a Chiefs fan and all but last year was hard because all three of my teams (HS,college, and pro) hit rock bottom.

Well, this is what sucks about it... The last time Tennessee beat a good team was Georgia, almost two years ago. And that was before they went on their run. We just shouldn't expect reasonable wins anymore.

To be honest, and this is my limited knowledge of a true spread offense, but I don't see UF being a full scale spread verses a pro-style with spread thrown in to take advantage of a mobile QB of decent speed and size that can throw, and because of his size take the punishment of running, and allowing for more creative play sets. Most of Tebow's footwork is up the gut.
