So I just stepped out to let my dogs go outside and thought man...I just got an instant head ache and I can't breathe without coughing....it must be pretty darn cold. So I came in and checked the weather...it is 3 FREAKING DEGREES with a wind chill OF -14 DEGREES!!! I really don't look forward to my walk to school in the morning. It's supposed to be 5 with a wind chill of -15 at 9:00 tomorrow morning. Crap.

You'll have to forgive the rant...my wife is out of town so you all are the only ones I have to complain to at this time of night!!

It was 19 this morning in Knoxville. I went to put the dog out this morning and almost busted my arse because of the frost on the deck.

Where are all those morons that were saying the warm December was all the evidence you need that Global Warming is in full-on mode :eek:k:

el nino pattern. That is about it.

That is what has been responsible for our warmer winter. Although, it isn't helping us out much right now!!

But - I will also say that El Nino "pattern" is something used to describe a wider phenomenon. What causes El Nino or La Nina patterns? Are they important (i.e., do we need them)? And, could global climate change disrupt the causes of the patterns? It is worth asking...even climate change experts readily admit that they don't fully understand what affects a rising global mean temperature will have. They have the biggies nailed down...but it is the seeminly more isolated events that could have dramatic impacts that their models simply can't take into account.

I'm not espousing an idea that IF we see global warming that it WILL impact these weather patterns...just raising the point that there are a lot of unknowns.
