I posted this on another site earlier:

I think Dooley can get it going and consistently win 8-10 games per year. I don't see him winning any championships.

That being said, Tennessee cannot fire Dooley right now.

I am not trying to give the coaching staff a pass but this team is bad. There is very litte talent. There is even less experience.

There were only four players on the field today (Malik Jackson, Bray, DaRick Rogers, and Prentiss Waggner) who could make the two deep on LSU, Bama, Arky, or UGA. Two of those were playing with significant injuries.

There is only one senior who is a legitimate SEC starter in Malik Jackson.

There is only one junior who is a legitimate SEC starter in Waggner.

The cluster frick left by Fulmer, Kiffin, and Hamilton was easily a three to four year rebuilding process. I know that there are several examples of coaching turnover that had immediate results. But I can guarantee that those situations did not involve three straight losing seasons and 38 players being kicked off the team or transferring during that time.

The Oline coach (Hiestand) should be fired. A running backs coach needs to be hired.

IMO, Dooley should win 8-10 next year based upon the talent coming back. If not, he should be put on notice that his fourth year could be his last.

I believe most posters on here do not realize how bad we are.

You say we have no talent, then follow that up with we should win 8-10 games next year with the returning talent. That makes total sense.

We have talent, we have some depth, we have very little experience.

The thing is - experience means jack in a sport where the playing career is 4 years. Period.

I'm sick of that argument.

This staff sucks, but this roster sucks so bad it's almost indescribable. Offensive line, backups across the board, Zach Attack, the defensive backs, running backs, etc.

Combine the staff and the roster and next to last in the SEC is what you get.

The other conference team that lost to Kentucky didn't think twice before showing their coach the door.

You didnt just start a thread arguing that KY is more talented tha TN did you? Un-freaking-believable. You are clueless as he!!!

Unless you meant to post this in the basketball forum....

If you don't see your coach winning championships, he does not need to be your coach. 8 wins will not cut it, especially when you look at Dooley's soft non-conference schedule in 2012. Demand excellence!

Would be all on board with this if there was any realistic shot whatsoever we could get a good coach instead and avoid being in the SEC east cellar for a long time to come.

My answer from another thread:

You are correct about today.

However, you don't fire a coach based on one game.

I believe Fulmer won a National Championship two years after losing to Memphis.

Fulmer also go the team into the SEC Championship two years after losing to Vandy for the first time in a quarter century.

Majors fielded one of the most talented teams in UT history (1990) after starting the season 0-6 including a loss to Duke.

Almost everyone said this team was five to seven win team at the beginning of the season. If you had told me that Hunter would miss nine games, Bray would miss five games, and we would not have J. Jackson in August, I would have thought five wins would be about right.

Everyone on here needs to step away from the ledge and go have a nice bourbon drink. The sun will rise tomorrow.

I hate it, but I do agree. The only way to get rid of Dooley and not destroy whatever progress that has been made would be to have a huge hire. I don't see it.

we will see

I am sick of the youth excuse CDD has used it till he is blue in the face...we got our tails beat by a WR qb..out coached and out classed today. A 10-7 loss to KY us inexcusable and he should be put on notice this year.
