For all you lawyers, CPAs, bankers, etc., out there in need of continuing education credits for the year, here's a nice little seminar for you:

EB-Islamic-Finance-Geneva20081.html

You can learn the ins-and-outs of how to create Shariah compliance in all your financial products and how to incorporate Islamic finance into the financial mainstream. I can't wait.

The issue will arise when all financial (and other) institutions are required to follow whatever bizarre rules and traditions that these fanatics think they need to impose on the world. And the day will come when they try to impose this crap on everyone. They are already having some significant success with this type of thing in Europe. The writing is on the wall. Ultimately, Muslims want everyone on earth to be governed by Sharia law. Until they get to that point, they believe that at least Muslims should be allowed to be governed by Sharia law to the exclusion of the existing laws. And just in case you don't know, Sharia and democracy cannot coexist.

Many Muslims disagree with you, I will choose to take their word for it.

As a general rule, I choose to ignore idiot fundamentalists of all types.

I think your classifications indicate a great deal of ignorance regarding the Muslim population. Far more of them have beliefs that are contrary to freedom and democracy than don't. The ones who actually have beliefs that are consistent with freedom and democracy are in the vast minority.

Muslim women are forced to cover their faces or hair and are punished or reprimanded for these indiscretions. Women are also considered inferior to men and are not allowed to vote in the majority of muslim countries. I would say those beliefs are quite contrary to democracy.
