ISIS Takes Control of Mosul

Meanwhile, more fear mongering from The Beltway...

US warns ISIS could get ahold of Syria's chemical weapons | Mail Online

Only 2 possible outcomes at this point:

1. Assad is falsely accused of another chemical weapons attack on his people, and this gives the US the green light to invade Syria.

2. ISIS uses chemical weapons on Syrians and this gives the US the green light to invade Syria.

Why do you hate America so much?

And don't give me the "I'm a real patriot but our govt. has let us down" crap. You flat out hate us.

And don't give us the "Russia is cool, even though its govt. is stealing billions from us" thing either.

Why?

And it's weird, because you don't give China a pass. I know our govt. is constantly pulling a swift one on us. Don't get me wrong. But you act like other govt.s are offering us a way out.

I wish.

I don't hate America. I wish we actually followed The Constitution, though. And I wish we wouldn't defend the interests of of those that don't care about us. I'm also not going to pretend that we didn't have any part in creating the mess that is the modern day Middle East. It is what it is. We have a lot of responsibility for making that area a disaster. Sorry...

I personally do not care. They are no threat to us. Fear monger all you wish, they are a small group of about 10k not even a blip on the radar.

We've intervened quite enough in the Middle East.

they are worse than al qaeda.... nuff said. and not even a blip on the radar, wow. they control a good chunk of Iraq and Syria, that right there makes them literally more than a blip. what do you think would happen if we and the rest of the outside world just let the create the caliphate? Do you honestly think they would get to that point, slap hands or head but turbans and call it a day? once they get their region under control they will start turning their eyes outward, and in 10 years we would be looking back saying "man I wished we had dealt with these guys earlier" or do believe Obama's "their a JV team"

I say we not get involved and let the chips fall where they may. We armed them, anyways, so we are partially responsible.

So you are willing to send in ground troops once again? Put more young Americans lives on the line for this bs? Where else are we gonna have to "make the world safe for democracy" in your opinion? Might as well since we're over there huh? Turn the tv and talk radio off man, you are believing the war mongers propaganda.
We should get the hell out of the Middle East ASAP and don't look back.

Let them kill each other, they've been doing it since Isaac and Ishmael. Who cares.

And btw, we have a veteran health care crisis in this country with the va. Why not take care of the troops who've already been over there fighting this bs before thinking about sending more over there.

I'm pretty sure Lew Rockwell is a libertarian. On the foreign interventions, libertarians believe both the R's and D's have lost their minds.

I understand he is a libertarian. But anyone who automatically invokes the "Republicans are bad and are calling for strikes!" has not been keeping up with the situation on the Washington side of things. So to say it shows a distinct lack of knowledge of the situation at hand is an understatement.

You don't even understand what his policy is yet can claim it doesn't work? Perfect

His policy is non-intervention according to Ras (I mistakenly had him pegged as an isolationist, though quite frankly the definitions aren't too far from eachother). Non-intervention might work if you're Iceland but not for the USA. And it may have worked if Israel never existed, lessening the need for US oversight of the region. But after the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars non-intervention is just absurd.

We never should have been involved in either of the Iraq wars in retrospect, and you could make the argument that we should have attacked Saudi Arabia instead of Afghanistan.

Regardless, the wars have now happened so you can't just leave the region and not intervene. If you do that you risk large terrorist organisations forming and planning attacks against the West in relative safety without fear of airstrikes.

Fair enough, but I don't think it's a matter of lack of knowledge... More like a different perspective. You have to admit that there is a wing of the party that calls for military intervention as the answer to everything. It's called the neocon/RINO wing and it's the same group that will work with the left to ensure true conservatives don't get elected during primaries.

Ummm...

Dem senator plans bill to approve airstrikes in Syria, as Obama hedges on plan | Fox News

When Congress returns next week, Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., says he plans to introduce a bill to "ensure there's no question that the president has the legal authority he needs to use airstrikes in Syria."

Nelson said in a statement: "Let there be no doubt, we must go after ISIS right away because the U.S. is the only one that can put together a coalition to stop this group that's intent on barbaric cruelty."

It is a matter of knowledge. Because if someone can't even take the time to figure out the politics back here, how can I trust them to understand what is going on over there?
