This is where the NCAA needs to change its rules, damn it. In the NFL, you CANNOT try to poach the current coach of another team until AFTER the season ends. And if that coach's current team is in the playoffs, then you have to wait until the playoff run ends to try for said coach. In the NCAA, you can go ahead and talk to a sitting coach of a team during the season and sign said coach after the regular season ends. It should be like in the NFL. With Ole Miss still in playoffs, LSU would have to wait until the Rebels' playoff run ends to get Kiffin. How it should be.

As far as the way Kiffin left, I told everyone that he's going to LSU. It's the most attractive job available and I knew that the boosters would pretty much bring the dump truck full of cash to his driveway. I can understand him taking the money. But the way he bailed on his players and then taking some of the coaching staff without talking to them, that's typical Kiffin.

I remember 24 years ago, the night after Survivor's Series after Kurt Angle helped Team WWF defeat the Alliance, but he defected to the Alliance earlier. Angle tries to explain to the Rock that he should be grateful to him for helping WWF win and that he only pretended to defect to the Alliance as a favor to Vince McMahon. After that, what the Rock told Angle is what is fitting for Lane Kiffin.

"He always has been and always will be an @$$hole".

And it would be stupid on a level reserved for the listeners of Paul Finebaum to let that disgusting poc to spend one more second in your building. I think the AD should have said Coach Kiffin is gone and he can pay for his personal security when leaving. Way to go LSU you might have passed Alabama in the most Hated School in the SEC

No one can say he destroyed USC. Pete Carroll did. Kiffin was fired and USC never saw meaningful success outside of one Rose Bowl season with Sark and Helton. Even Riley hasn’t gotten them “back”…..

I get people are emotional but have some common sense.

Lane leaving Tennessee happened in a matter of hours. As soon as he got the call, he was gone. Pretty much most of the coaching staff was leaving too Of course, he had EdO try to talk Bray, James, etc from going to class the next day so they could take them to USC.

Ole Miss had to suffer thru this for 3-4 weeks but the exit sounds like the same.
