Bruce Pearl has swagger, confidence, and passion. I would not say he is cocky though.

Oh yeah and the media talk about him all the time

Just in case anyone hasn't noticed yet, everyone is outplaying us in the SEC now.So we can't critique Pearl but we can constantly ride Fulmer?:no:

I think it is easy to see his kind of energy and enthusiasm as cockiness. But 'cocky' has a disengenuous undertone to it, as though it were a put on.
I think Pearl genuinely loves the game and coaching and the school, and that just spills over with him. These are good, make that great, qualities to find in a coach. I hope he never loses his emotion. It is honest, and current as well as future players can see that. Kids see right through the fake stuff very quickly...

I'll take your post seriously when Bruce has a losing season. Until then, I will laugh at this one just as hard as I did your attempt to blame him for the Lady Vols getting slapped around on their home floor by Duke. Maybe you should critique Queen Pat.

I see utfan's point the Fulmer bashing has gotten out of control, however Pearl basicaly started from the ground up where Full-mer went from N.C. to 5-6. I think for the b-ball team we need a guy like Pearl to lift this program to the top, maybe similiar to what Spurrier did for the Gators. Cocky or not I love the guy, when was the last time so many people nationally were talking about a 14-6 UT b-ball team?

His trend since the NC not withstanding, Fulmer didn't start with a NC he worked his way there.

I'm aware Phil didn't start with N.C. just saying he's been to the top and pretty much let things hit rock bottom. Plus Phil started with much better talent than what Pearl had to work with.

Notre Dame is quickly becoming my most hated team pro or college. What in the hell does a N.D. team that got spanked by LSU in another bowl game have to be cocky about? when has there b-ball been relevant? How many years has it been since a N.D. football or basketball team has won a title of any sorts?

I foresee a ban in your future.

Even with your 2005 win over a 5-6 team, Tennessee and Notre Dame have split their 8 games, with UT holding the scoring advantage by 11 points.

You'd know this if you were older than 14.

The author of post #14 is without a doubt the true definition of an idiot. I don't mind intellegent posters of opposing schools or even ones who want to talk a little friendly smack, but that post is way over the line. Can we get that stupid SOB banned ?
