The hype isn't that tremendous surrounding this team. They're young and playing many guys relatively new to the system. They have a lot of talent and, if they'll make the effort on D, they can probably surpass any expectations that we might have.

I expect them to again with the SEC reg. season title.

well there's no doubt they have talent but they have shown signs of weakness that i am concerned about but im sure they will get it going

i agree they can win the sec as well, but the sec is down this year as a whole so i dont know how far they will go in the tournament just yet we'll have to see

UF, UK and UT should all progress tremendously throughout the season. The one that comes the farthest will win the conference and likely compete best in the dance.

you are probably right uk has the tendency to get off to a bad start and still make the ncaa tournament they will be good sec competition

I think if this team played last year's team that last year's team would win. I think last year the leadership and overall basketball IQ was greater. However, I think at the end of the year and at tournament time this team will be better than last year's team. The talent has to develop and become seasoned. They are going to be like a fine wine come the end of the season. I really don't care about these early games...the important thing is that they get better. If they do, Watch Out!

p.s. Would love to see scotty gain about 20 lbs.

I dont think this years team will come close to what we did last year. Last year was one of those years where everything came together. Chris Lofton was just so unbelievably clutch, it was rediculous. He saved us sooo many times. Who is gonna be that guy this year? Tyler Smith? NO...Chism? NO This team is just way to young to pull off what we did last year. It will be tough to win the SEC this year. But we should definately make it to the Dance, and probably make it to the Sweet 16 once again. This team should be unstoppable in the next 2 years.

Good point about the defense. I think to this roster it's extremely important that they play disciplined quick defense, and turnovers should be as sought after as points. I think if this roster challenges for the SEC title they'll have to do it with their main weapon as defense.

I would say JuJuan Smith was our biggest contributer last year to big wins. He played great Defense and was a very clutch 3 point shooter as well.

And have you seen Woolridge,Tatum,Hopson shoot????
And do you think Ramar Smith is a better point then Maze? This team fits better together they just gotta figure each other out.

This team just really needs to work on Defense! And back door cuts! I like this years offensive team. I like the fact that we have players who can make a move and go to the basket instead of having someone set a screen to get open. We have some scrappy type players on this team and I like that. We have more depth than last year, we are just a little young right now. But mid way through the year this team will mesh and be unstoppable. Bruce Pearl is too good of a coach to not have this happen!

People tend to forget this is a young team...Got lots of growing to do but damn its going to be a fun ride watching it happen...I'm not expecting the world this season but I think they will repeat as SEC champions...At least that's my realistic goal lol

IMO there was more hype surrounding last years team. This years team is really good, but alot of unknowns espicially at the PG position. I see them going to the sweet 16, maybe the elite 8.
