I can't think of a faster one. Swift and Williams out of A&M broke lose a few times last season as well, although Williams left school early. Doubt anyone else broke a 70+ yarder like Ty did(twice, once with a bum knee)

Just speculation based on a limited, if that, body of work. Now line up the "fastest" RBs several 40yd, 60yd, and 100yd dash meets wearing full football gear over a period of 6-8 months. The cream will then rise to the top. We'll know who is the fastest by that time for sure. Just saying.

There's no doubt that if Ty had a real OL, he'd have to be renamed "Touchdown Ty" or maybe "Chandler Crosses the Goal Line Channels." Or some other ridiculous moniker.

No. Swift at UGA is definitely faster, Kam Martin at Auburn might be the fastest back in the league. The WillIams kid SC and the Crockett kid at Mizzou can burn it and are probably a bit faster as well.
Chandler has good speed, but isn't exactly a burner. A 100% healthy Chandler mixed with some good O line play and a deep threat WR from somewhere to back opposing safeties up should be plenty fast enough to have some great success.

Without an OL again, may rename him " tackled for a loss" Ty.

Disagree that Ty “isn’t exactly a burner”, I believe he is. Speed isn’t his issue. Imho, he has to get better in the open field making people miss so that he can showcase the speed that I believe he has.

Swift at UGA had at least 2 seventy yarders, 1 against Kentucky and 1 against Auburn. I don't know whose faster between him and Chandler but there is not enough of a difference to matter.

He has proved he can outrun defensive backs when he gets in the open field. Hopefully we'll see more of him getting lose next season.

Agreed Ty Chandler is a burner. Ran track in the state track meet his senior year and was favored to win in the sprints until he hurt himself. Not a lot of high school kids can run a sub 11 in the 100 meters, granted it's more common than it used to be, however Ty was one of the kids who could and did.

Tyler Byrd is the fastest player on the team, we all see how that turned out.

Didn't Ty Chandler gain weight? He might be slower now.

Byrd was said to be the fastest player on the team 2-3 years ago, doubt that’s still the case, jmo. As far as Chandler gaining weight, it’s a good thing for his potential on-field play. Plus, I believe he’s only gained around 7 pounds or so, from 201 last year to 208 as reported recently....that shouldn’t hurt his speed at all.
