With a bunch of other Vol fans...not looking for a Sports Bar because I have a 11 year old boy.

Do they show the game on a Big Screen like at Thompson etc?

at home? We need more information about why you're taking your 11 year old out somewhere to watch the game. I can assure you they're not showing the game at Bed Bath and Beyond or Super Target.

i was working at K-Mart in 1998 and you better believe we had the game on that night at work.

perhaps he wants to expose his son to a game atmosphere you can only get in the midst of a host of Vol fans and is just looking for a good clean setting to do that...maybe we need "more information" about why you need that information?

Dude whats your problem? The guy was just trying to find a place showing the game where there will be other Vol Fans, and doesn't want an 11 year old around a bunch of drunk men. I personally don't see a problem with this.

my post was merely in jest. As sarcastic as this board is, I figured someone would pick up on that immediately. The "Old School" reference aside.

in all honesty, it may be difficult to find a public venue for watching the game with your son where alcohol isn't being consumed, but there are places where the tone would be relatively ok for a young man of 11, I would think...Buffalo Wild Wings perhaps?

see...sarcasm. Nobody is giving this guy hell for suggesting the STRIP as a possible location to take an 11 year old on gameday.

Beef O'Bradys (or however the heck it's spelled) in Turkey Creek would be you best bet.

pretty sure i have heard that it's more of a family setting and i think smoking is outlawed as well.

assuming we're talking Knoxville here.

Smoking will be outlawed at every indoor restaurant/bar in Tennessee come Oct. 1 -- UNLESS the establishment is ALWAYS closed to minors.
Thank goodness!

Most places that show football games will be serving alcohol, and people will still smoke even though it's outlawed. It will probably be hard to find a total family sports bar/place.

I smelled like a giant cigarette when I got home from the bar last Saturday. The smoke was everywhere. Although, it still didn't stop me from enjoying the game with a huge Tenn crowd.:dance2:

there's a large enforcement team working to solve this very problem.

i think the fines are a little weak though.

you could always try a church function or something. I know a lot of church crowds get together for the UT games. Aside from going to a bar there's really nowhere to take a kid.
