Is The 1/6 Commission Coming?

Yeah, and just think ...

... if Donald Trump was a mature adult, who could handle losing an election the way most public office holders do, then there would be nothing to talk about right now except for the Biden Administration's inadequate / non-existent response to hyper-inflation and historically high gas prices, and the Republican victory over Roe v Wade which was 40 years in the making.
Yeah, and just think …..
if Pelosi and others had allowed the NG to be present, which Trump had approved……
Ex-Capitol Police Chief Says Requests For National Guard Denied 6 Times In Riots

That is sour grapes from Tucker Carlson. Frank Luntz is trusted by Republicans, including Kevin McCarthy, because he is a conservative who works closely with Republican Party candidates for office, and has a track record of success.. Period.
Kevin McCarthy is a one party guy and will not be part of the future opposition Republican party. You're being foolish by stating anything else.

Trump hurt people's feelings.
That is so stupid.

The Capitol riot would not have happened if Trump had just accepted his defeat, after the electoral college met and voted on December 14, 2020. He has never presented a shred of proof that the results were illegitimate. He went to unprecedented extremes in his effort to retain office. Wanna talk about Al Gore? Fine. Al Gore didn't start a riot at the Capitol in January of 2001. In fact, Al Gore presided over the formal certification of his own defeat, and even though his opponent's brother was the Governor of the decisive state, Gore has never described the 2000 election results as having been "rigged."

No National Guard would have been needed without the "Stop the Steal" rally.

If Trump had just accepted his defeat after the electoral college meeting on December 14th, as Al Gore did ... there is no riot at the Capitol, and there would not have been a need for any troop deployment of the National Guard. Trump and his egotistical, selfish need to invalidate his defeat, is at the heart of everything that went wrong on January 6, 2021.

That’s fair. According to the article previously posted, the DC National Guard was unarmed, and the shout out to the Maryland National Guard was a bit too late…if memory serves.

Yes, and it's beside the point, anyway.

It's pretty simple :

1) No election lies = No rally in front of The White House

2) No rally in front of The White House = No march down to the Capitol

3) No march down to the Capitol = No riot at the Capitol

* Everything began with Trump's lies about the election, and his unwillingness to concede, even after the electoral college had met and voted on December 14, 2020.

I need a new pillow. Just kidding. The boys could talk if they wanted, it seems they don’t wanna. They seem inclined to hope for the best and by and large, that strategy has worked. I ain’t gonna hold my breath, Pardon Me.

Who brought up Al Gore?

And yes, Trump should have accepted defeat. That doesn't make him responsible for the actions of grown adults. They chose to act out. Those who actually acted criminally should be prosecuted.

But the left also wants to make more of this than it was because Trump.

Don’t you reckon all adults involved should be held accountable? I mean, he asked em to show up?

Al Gore and the 2000 election come up a lot whenever people want to play "what-about-ery."

Trump isn't responsible for their criminal actions, but he is responsible for why they were there in the first place. Through outright lies, Trump led that crowd people to believe that he had been cheated. He also led them to believe that they had it within their power to do something about it. You can haggle over his degree of culpability for the riot... but the fact will always be that without his lies, the riot would not have taken place.

They impeached him for it.

This whole thing has been overblown from the beginning since they labeled it an "insurrection". I have no love for Trump, but this is all political theater by the left because Trump was continuously an ass hat to them. The problem all of this creates is now the Republicans will use the first chance they get to do the same to a Democrat, and the tit for tat will continue back and forth because they all act like a bunch of children.

Can you prove Trump didn't believe his lies? He probably believes he was cheated. He's allowed to express that opinion, even if he's mistaken. Sure, he demonstrated no class whatsoever in his defeat, but that's not against the law.

It fit the definition of an insurrection.

We can prove that Trump had numerous advisers telling him that there was no validity to any of his fraud claims. Jeffrey Rosen, William Barr, Richard Donaghue ... he knew he was full of $hit.

And he didn't believe them. He probably still doesn't believe them because he has a massive ego. But he didn't actually do anything illegal.

If your overall point is yer sick of the division, I agree, I am too. However, I was impressed with the young lady’s manner in the hot seat. Some could learn from having the chance to sit there too.
