The NBA talk is always around Stokes and McRae, but I'm starting to wonder if Richardson's defense along with his mid range game won't translate to the NBA better than the other guys?

His D on Marble was nothing short of amazing!

Josh Richardson has a better shot at making a roster than Stokes or Mcrae

Reminds me of Tony Allen. He's improved every year since he's got here. Do you guys remember how awful his shot was when he first got here? Makes me have some faith in Martin because of how well he can develop. Really excited to see what he does for Hubbs, Cornish, AJ, Thompson, and Moore. If he can help Moore develop a shot he will be amazing.

I've been carrying water for JRich for two years now. The kid just gets it. He's smart, tough, athletic, fiery, and humble. He has improved every season, always gets the toughest defensive assignment, and is a class individual.

He is the one player who I feel probalby embodies what CCM sees as a "tougher breed", and he sees a lot of himself in Josh Richardson.

It's maybe not that crazy of an idea.
Yes to but say he has a better shot than McRae or Stokes is s bit of a stretch. Josh is a great lock down defender but let's not act like his offensive game is perfect. I guess I just disagree with his opinion, I think Stokes is a solid NBA pick.

I believe Maymon also fits the "tougher breed" profile. Definately giving it all he has to offer post injury.

You don't have to be great offensively to play in the NBA, not every player is going to average 20pts a game. Guys like Tony Allen, Bruce Bowen, and Ron Artest aren't offensive juggernauts but they can score when given the opportunity and they play great defense.

Oh I agree, offense isn't everything and you make a good point. I don't disagree that Josh Richardson has NBA potential as a defender, I was just disagreeing that he has a better shot than Stokes does.

Stokes weaknesses as an NBA post player are glaring - too short and no lift.

What are Richardson's weaknesses as an NBA lock down defender? I'm not seeing any. He's got the right build, height, and quickness to guard NBA wing scorers.

Stokes may well play in the NBA for 15 years, but at this point I think its not a reach for someone to think Richardson may have a better shot.

I'm not sure that any of them ever get more than a cup of coffee in the NBA, but I think Richardson is the most complete player among them. The problem I see is that he's a bit of a tweener. He has the size to play SG at the next level, and I think he could defend the position. But I think he's more effective offensively off-ball, and that may not cut it as a SG in most schemes.

There are 3 guys on this roster who will for sure make a roster: McRae, Stokes, and Richardson. All 3 play like NBAers.

You don't get it...they won't come calling for his offense. His skill is to contain the other teams best wing scorer. Every NBA roster needs one of those.

Woodbury exposed why stokes is a 2nd round pick no matter what. He's not getting any taller. Woodbury went right over him all night.

Moore is a lot like J. Rich. All he needs is a shot.

If he develops as much as he has each of the past couple of offseasons, it is not a stretch at all. He has to be motivated every time he steps on the court to play with the intensity on D that he did last night. It was funny to hear the announcers just "expecting" Marble to "go off" at any moment last night, but that did NOT happen! Plus, when a kid like that (that isn't a normal scorer) misses several early shots like that, there is a tendency to go in the tank. He did not do that. He battled through it and ended the game very well offensively.

And to the poster that said CCM sees a lot of himself in JRich, I can see that too. He has said multiple times that he couldn't shoot very well when he went to Purdue, but he worked his tail off and got better....much like JRich has done. I'm not saying he is the 2nd coming of Chris Lofton, but he has vastly improved his shot.

HUUUUHHH??? McRae is, by far, the best pure NBA talent on this team and probably since CJ Watson.

McRae will be extremely serviceable, if not a starter in the league. I will have a nice career and get paid well for doing so.

IMO your statement is nuts. He is the perfect size coupled with a long and rangy wingspan and ridiculous athleticism.

McRae plays very similar to to Dale Ellis. Especially Dale's college and early pro career. Similar body type and athleticism.
