There's been a lot of discussion concerning which of the freshmen receivers might take over the slot position. Why is Karmara not being considered a viable option there? If CBJ's offense is predominantly a 1 RB set, then we really need to find a way to get Kamara and his elite skill set on the field when Hurd is in as that single RB IMHO.

Kamara has proven to have good hands and is very dangerous in space. Reminds me of a larger, faster, and better Pig Howard who was pretty effective when he wasn't in trouble. Kamara was underutilized in 2015 and we need to find more ways to use him without using less Hurd.

Kamara proved to be very effective there, but I tend to think Pig Howard's dismissal caused Kamara to take more reps there than originally planned. I look for Josh Smith and possibly Tyler Byrd to own that position this year, but it certainly is an advantage to move Kamara around in the formation, especially with Hurd on the field as well.

Coach Debord is not stupid...Kamara will get plenty of touches in multiple schemes...no-brainer...:good!:

GO VOLS!

Agree. No need to put AK solely at Slot. He should get 14-15 touches a game from multiple spots/positions like last year when he was very effective. I think we should expect more of the same this year.

I would like to see Kamara with the ball more myself. Debord done well getting it to him last year in different ways, I would imagine he'd do the same this year.

I wish I could remember where, but there is an interview where Kamara's # of touches is discussed.
It was said they were working on ways to get him the ball even more this year.

They need to. For a smaller guy he runs with some authority. I don't remember him going down first hit much last year unless they tackled him at his feet. He's slick with the ball in his hands.

One of the best in the country last year at slipping tackles. Also, I know most refer to AK as being a smaller back, but he's really not. He's 5'10, 215 and runs well between the tackles IMO, just didn't get many opportunities last year. He should get 3-4 more touches per game this year IMO....good things would happen.

Didn't mean to infer to play him only at the slot. My thought was when Kamara wasn't lined up in the backfield, put him I the slot.

We tend to think of Kamara as "smaller" because Hurd is such a monster at RB, but at 215 lbs. Kamara is definitely not a small back. And with a fairly low center of gravity at 5'10", with that weight size, along with his acceleration and athleticism, he is a handful and you pretty much have to have a perfect form tackle to get him down.

This is what I meant. He's not a little guy by any means. Hurd is a tank so as you said makes him look smaller. All it takes is a small hole in the line and he can house it at any time. I would like to see a little triple option out of the shotgun with him and Hurd this year. I don't remember seeing it much last year if at all.

They should pay Christopher Walken to make a sample that says "I gotta fever...and the only prescription is more Kamara!"

Seems like I remember this and also something about this was a big part of his decision to come back - opportunity to get more touches this year.

Maybe a better question is why isn't the nation's leading kick returner getting a few touches at running back?

Our "O" would be multi dimensional using Alvin and Jalen in tandem. Both are threats running or receiving ,add JD and our WRs, the 'D' can be kept off-balance and guessing. We have one of the best and most complete backfields in CFB.
