It would bother me a lot more if he was an English professor. If he can create a winning football program, I doubt many will care much about his grammar and diction.

But he is the face of The University of Tennessee. Even if he’s not a professor, he should be able to string together a grammatically correct sentence. Wouldn’t it make sense that an academic institution’s most prominent public figure, who addresses the public at least weekly, would have at least a basic grasp of the English language?
