I know over the past couple of years the stadium just keeps getting smaller and smaller.

According to wikipedia, which is not always accurate, we are the 5th largest in the US, 2nd largest in the south, and 9th largest in the world.

Neyland is 4th in capacity as far as college stadiums go...It's:
Penn State
Michigan (More than likely will take number 1 spot back after suites are done)
Ohio State
Tennessee

Seating is tough to call. Even when our capacity was 107,000...we would still pack 109,000 into the stadium. I guess what matters is seating capacity, although our standing capacity is higher.

60,000 or 109,000 it just needs to be louder. more intimidating.
note to the student section - know the game and be passionate

It now holds 100,011 people. AL is supposedly working on closing the section where their jumbotron currenlty is. That will be a sad day when we no longer have the largest stadium in the SEC

Iv always found a great deal of jow in bragging about Neyland being so big... All this talk of Bama passing us and us reducing seating makes me sad...

As long as we beat them on the field, I'll gladly cede them bragging rights for the larger stadium.

Please address the blue hairs of the West side of the stadium, if you are going to call students out.

I have seats in Sec. P and I've been sitting there for years . The students are way more passionate than the blue hairs . You can hear crickets in the Alumni sec. But ALL Tennessee fans need to learn the game . We are loud when the Vols have the ball and silent when they are on Defense . We should be just the opposite and disrupt the opposing teams offense and become the 12th man . If our team is down , we need to take charge of the game and inspire the guys to fight . GO VOLS

Next year we will drop another notch, as Alabama is expanding to over 100,000 for the first time. They won't be bigger by much but you can bet they will use that in recruiting against us. We need to find a way to add some seats back. I know the boxes generate alot more revenue but there is alot of cachet associated with being one of the three biggest. I know the gameday crowds are bigger by a few thousand but we need the stated capacity to be in the top three, IMO.
