Okay, I know he is not as big or strong as Meachem, but he seems to be coming around and making big plays. He hasn't scored a TD yet but is averaging over 100 yds/game. Can he keep it up or has he just taken advantage against bad defenses? We don't seem to have anyone else right now that is stepping up as the number one receiver so why not Taylor. Let me know what you all think about his abilities and his chances of being that superstar receiver this year.

I predict he will be a solid D1 receiver. It appears he and Rogers both gettin r dun. Neither is Meachemesque.

The reason I posted this thread is because I have always been a Lucas Taylor hater.Lately, however, he seems to be proving me wrong. He used to fumble the ball alot but it looks like he has got that under control. Does anyone know how fast he actually is? The coaches seem to think he is fast.I wanted to know what other fans thought about Taylor.

He's really surprised me in the first two games of the year and done a great job. But I'll let you know what I think of him after the Florida game :good!:

meachem? i dunno. but i'll be the first to say LT has proved me wrong. i had little to no confidence that he'd be even a serviceable WR in the SEC. so far so good. he's been a very pleasent surprise, and has played very well. congrats to him....he's been pretty big thus far in the season.

Taylor has broken maybe 1 tackle so far, so no, not Meachem. He's doing well in a Cedrick Wilson type way, though.

Taylor's still young though, right? Meachem wasn't a household name until he broke out last year. That said, I don't know that Taylor will give us that extra something that makes a good receiver a great one, but I hope he does.

Taylor is the only receiver that has shown any gamebreaking ability so far. Rogers is sort of a posetion guy to me. Taylor is a solid receiver, but ourtruly dynamic players at this position are sitting on the bench (Jones, Vinson, Moore, O Neal). By midseason I think one of these guys will be starting.

Taylor and Rogers both had 100+ yards against USM. I heard on the Phillip Fulmer Show that you have to go all the way to back to 1997 to find the last time two Tennessee receivers did that.

Taylor and Meachem are just too different to ever be similar.

I will say that Taylor has really impressed me thus far. I was one of the people who thought that he wouldn't do much.

I don't get that. Taylor has gone over 100 yards in bothe games and Rogers once. People say our best guys are on the bench, but if that's the case why aren't they playing. I mean those three guys have zero catches through 2 games, and Moore has like 2. I don't even think Jones has played.

I just don't see those guys going from zero impact to starting over the next 3/4 games.

What happened to Hancock? There was a time on this board when everyone was really talking him up.

He does not have the speed but could have better hands runs good routs and secures the ball what more could we want.

needs to bulk up some, but i certainly will look forward seeing he and austin get better and better. i really like the ability seeing both of them going across the middle. neither is scared....eg; vinson:scare:
