I watched the interview about his discussions with teh team after Wednesday's practice...and I was noticing that he seems pretty ticked (that could be because of having to deal with teh media:)). I am wondering if you guys (and gals) think it is simply professional tone, or if he is pretty disturbed by the team.

Side Note: does anyone really believe that Kiffin doesn't know that Gerald Jones spoke to the media? I do not, and I think Kiff is ticked about it. Thoughts...

Kiffin had dealt with the hollywood bull before thats all GJ is pullin.. Don't think he is not bein professional he is being pissed in a prof way. He wants this team pumped and ready to go! He is pissed because we could be 4-0 its natural of a coach. He is a lot more confident than anything he is being a normal coach

IMO he was professional in his interview and I noted his voice was somewhat scratchy in areas as though he may have a sore throat however I didn't think he appeared to be angry at all. Disappointed and honest? Yes. Angry or Disturbed? I didn't see it.

I don't understand the question. Seems to me he's coaching a football team. He's calling people out, who know exactly who they are, without naming names or throwing anyone under a bus.

I did not notice that he was ticked. Kiff gives a pretty even keel interview. I think Jones is in that 5% he was talking to after practice. Kiffin is going to run this program as much as he can according NFL standards. He will treat his players as professional as he can treat them, as much as they will allow. I think Kiffin expects more from his players and calls them to a higher standard. If you don't expect the highest from people they will not respond. Sometimes you have to kick a few butts when these guys are this young. With the talk about depth, I think we are seeing just how much that the last staff had dropped off. Remember, it is the last staff's players he is dealing with. He has already brought the level of play up. I think he will continue to get more out of the players on a consistant basis than in past years. I also don't expect to see Jones talking out of turn anymore.

I'm not saying he is...I am asking if he seemed that way. I honestly do not believe that he knew nothing of GJ's statement to the media. I just sensed a little frustration in his demeanor...i could be wrong. I am simply wondering if anyone else picked up on it. I understand that someone can be professionally angry or disturbed. The point I am trying to make is that to me he seemed a little disturbed with some things and it came across...or I was wondering if it was simply his professionalism of showing no emotion or being quick with teh (I left 'teh' there to further show my bad habit of typing "the" as "teh") media.

I've had a feeling that some of the passing game issues were GJ's fault. The first game our passing game looked better, albeit against an inferior opponent. Then come UCLA and Jones return to the line up and the passing game went away. He admitted that he ran the deep route different than the other guys and that is why Crompton missed him. He needs to start conforming to what is best for this offense and he will see the ball. I cant stand guys who complain about being role players. Sorry that Hardesty is doing everything right and exactly the way Kiffin wants him to and is becoming a bigger star than you but suck it up learn the playbook or follow the other players right out the door.

With the recruiting that is going on in Knoxville if I was a player on the edge of playing I would be busting my arse everyday and night for that team...Kiffin is going to bring in the talent and its only going to get worse for those players who he is referring to in his interview....I love Kiffin and his attitude and approach to the game...These players better get onboard or get of the train because we are heading to the top with good coaching and hard working players....Our coach demands nothing less....

GO VOLS!

Is this any surprise? Has Kiffin ever said we had a "Great", "Awesone", "Best Ever Seen", practice? He's squeezing everything he can out of what he has on campus. Top to bottom he wants production and now he has examples to show why the scrubs need to be paying attention.

Who do you suppose is in the "5%"?

GJ, Warren, Cody Pope (thought he'd see some playing time this year given emphasis on more athleticism versus bulk), some DL's, Vinson...???

How could he seem disturbed with some things but still be showing no emotion to the media? This is quite possibly the most incoherent post I have ever read.
