Looking around online, it seems as if both the XBox and PS2 versions of NCAA 07 are apparantley superior to their XBox 360 counterpart. Apparantley the next-gen counterpart lacks many of the same features, and playing ability while adding lock-ups and poor framerate stability.

Looks like I'm gettin' me a PS2 copy.

whenever i read about all that the 360 version lacked, the graphics and stadiums didn't matter too awfully much

I'd preferably get the XBox version, but I still have to replace the system. Believe me, I'm of the polar opposite opinion that graphics make a game. Between any two games, I will always take the deeper, better playing, smoother running one. Even if it's not on the current gen system. If EA corrects the problems and maybe adds a little depth to the game (like with what they did with their FIFA game) then I'll buy the 360 version.

where did you hear that the gameplay wasnt as good? i like the gameplay better than last years game and the only time the framerate is choppy is when it is showing the stadium. in the game it is smooth as can be.

i was really surprised about NCAA Football 2007. I thought that I was in for a major dissapointment, but its a pretty good edition for this year. Not a whole lot was updated, except for a few tackling and player animations, the spring games, and the momentum bar. But what was updated was vey well done. I will probably buy it sooner or later, since I just rented it. However, even though these new features are good, I still think they could have done more. I am not going to say it is worth 40 or 50 dollars by any stretch. Many people say it is basically last years game, which in essence, it is, just with a few tweaks here and there. But there are still little details in it that separate 07 from 06. As for your comment Milo, alot of 360 users are saying that their version lacks depth, opposed to how many features the ps2/xbox versions have. Graphics are NOT everything, as you said earlier(even though they do look pretty sweet on the 360). If I were you I would at least rent both versions before buying. That way you can see what you like better......

i dont really care about the features. i am more of a regular dynasty and online kind of guy, i maybe did one race for the heisman last year.

when you go online the features don't matter so much so i like the graphics advantage more.

btw, i think the 360 game play is better then ncaa gameplay has been.

I hear you can't use any custom rosters online on the 360 version. :( :banghead:

idk i dont have live yet. could you do that in last year's game?
Yes. You can even still do it on the xbox and PS2 versions of 07. I only heard this on fkrosters' message board, I haven't seen it myself.

milo, if you are the kind of guy that likes stuff like legend mode and spring games then ps2 is fine. yes the 360 version had them take out some of the features in theo ther versions. i dont know why ea took these things out.

if you just want it for the gameplay, the 360 version is great.

some people say ncaa 2007 for xbox and ps2 is jsut like the previous year. if thats the case the 360 version is 10x better.

i dont see what is better then great gameplay and dynasty mode. i think the other stuff is just kind of there, and i ignored it for the most part.

what do you mean buy custom rosters. like changing player names?

Yup. When you play online you only see the default names... HB #27 and whatnot.

On the xbox and PS2 versions, if you've edited the roster you'll see A. Foster.

Some people say big deal... others like me can't stand to play without the player's real names.

Well you guys, I got the PS2 version. Played it, yeah the gameplay is like last year's but I play games for features. Graphics really don't wow me anymore, they're just not that big of a deal. And after playing some demos and such of the 360 version, seems the gameplay is different only because the new controller forces it to be. As bad as it sucks, EA Sports gave 07 for the 360 the Madden 06 treatment (to somewhat of a lesser extent). Sure it's got better graphics... But at the expense of gameplay depth, features and possible system stability. All for something I believe is entirely superficial. I can't stress it enough, go by the old addage. Graphics don't make a game.

If EA had incorporated the same features on both systems, and I didn't hear of so many system problems (my 360 is already somewhat vulnerable), then yeah I'd go for the 360 version in a heartbeat. But, I'll stick with my previous-gen copies until EA Sports decides they'd like to make a good game in addition to a dollar.

I like the way you think Milo. I think you made a good choice. DT Lindy already has his PS2 rosters online if you're interested.

I'll check it out. Just played my first game, haven't played in forever, and still getting the hang of the control scheme... Got manhandled by Oregon as Oregon State. Oh well, I'll get the hang of it.

Link me to the Lindy rosters?
