I think everyone needs to be prepared to be thought of as a bottom 1/3 SEC team entering this preseason . All the media outlets are going to downplay us . Everyone will concentrate on Texas and Arch as a top 3 team, Lane and LSU, the Gators new coach, aTm getting back to the CFP, UGA going Grand Theft Auto . We will be an afterthought, and I absolutely love it.
Yeah we won’t be hyped and I like that as well..

We all know how that’s going to be received. That’s why I said “be prepared”. Our fan base gets real pissy if we’re not talked about or if others get some more notoriety that we think we should get . Everyone is going to look at our schedule, they’re going to see that we lost 3 home games last year and that we’re staring at 7-5 or 8-4 again. I don’t see it that way. Heupel has built enough equity with me to expect that we will have good QB play and that we will maximize our capabilities on offense. I think the fact that he went out and made some big changes to the staff tells us a lot about his willingness to adapt. He knows this is a big year, I think he loves the challenge of being an underdog and I think it’s good that we can get our feet wet with a couple of small schools and a pretty good GT team who will be missing their biggest piece from last season. We’ll be underdogs when Texas comes to Neyland, but I think we’ll be ready to go.

A big difference is there's a good chance we're unranked coming into the year because of so many unknowns. The ranking will take care of itself though if we can pull off some upsets (Texas, LSU, A&M, Bama). I have no idea what to expect this year but I'm looking forward to it! Could be another 8-9 win deal where everyone looks forward to "next year" or we catch lightning in a bottle ala 2022.

Week 1: SEC cupcake, QB on their first start
Week 2: ACC team with hopes of challenging for the title
Week 3: Cupcake
Week 4: Former Big 12 team with a bunch of storylines in this game
Week 6: road game vs Arkansas???
Week 1 It wasn't Nicos first Start. He started the bowl game in 2023 and finished the year with more than 70 snaps. GMac has about 10 in deep garbagetime.
Week 2 Tech is no where near a title contender for the ACC this year. But they do seem very similar to the fools gold NC state was.
Week 4 2026 Texas and 2024 Oklahoma are not even in the same genus of animal.
Week 6 totally different Arkansas than we saw in 24

I see no parallels between this team and that one. Especially not the schedule 2024 we had a really friendly one. 26 is H-ll on wheels. We have 2 cupcake games. Our homecoming game is VS an SEC foe. All the normally weak SEC foes we face, except for Kentucky and maybe Vandy are likely to be a lot better than normal. Auburn and Arkansas will have good teams.

IF you squint really hard and tilt your head in the dark while super drunk, I can see how you'd mix up Uma Thurman and Maria Carey...but the lights are on and we are sober man.
