Is Currie now worse than Kiffin in Vol lore?

It'll be easier to tell when the dust settles and Clay Travis inevitably writes a tell-all book about it (think about the one he wrote about Fulmer firing) to figure out who actually made this call. If it was heavily indluenced by Haslams, then I personally don't think he's the problem.

If it was his idea, and this ends up setting us back 5-7 years, then yes. To the pit of misery he goes.

They both screwed UT football, so they are on equal footing in my eyes. Kiffin's screw was probably worse because it's what started the massive fall when it looked like things would turn out okay if he'd stayed. We may see Currie's as equal in a few years.

Very true. He’ll fall on the sword if need be like a good, little minion.

wont matter. the problem still remains constant. and until that changes, we'll never have a strong enough leader for this athletic department, nor a chancellor with strong enough leadership to overcome it.

for this to get fixed, for now anyway, it will be bottom up change that does it. not top down.

Of course it won’t matter. The only way this changes is if Ergen’s camp smacks the Haslams to the side. Unlikely.

The FBI is getting to be my favorite team.

FBI Basketball is taking down one rogue program after another, and we know it won’t touch us because we evidently don’t recruit highly-regarded players.

FBI Football might take down the Haslams.

Do you even have to ask? This idiot went from no opinion to the most hated UT leadership individual in about what 7 months? And he can’t recover from this! He can not unring that bell. Even Adams is saying he doesn’t see how his job survives.

Fire him now!!!

Hiring Kiffin over candidates like Brian Kelly and Gary Patterson was the mistake.
Passing over those other guys was worse than any damage Kiffin did.

Tennessee football started down hill when Cutcliffe left the program. Fulmer could recruit but Cut was the difference maker.

Kiffin was really the only good coach since Cutcliffe so i'd bring him back if it's not too late.

7 Months? he accomplished most of that free fall in 24 hours.

Can't imagine the damage Lane and Currie together would do. I wonder if Blackburn would come clean it up again

I think he's done more damage from a position of higher responsibility.

Currie. PERIOD.

Kiffin was branded an a$$hole (and might be a top shelf version of one) because Summer's Eve Hamilton screwed it up. Kiffin did not bolt in the dark. He told Hammy that he would go to USC if Pete Carroll went to Seattle. Hammy shrugged it off and went skiing in Colorado for a week longer. After all, he was with Haslam so it was all OK by "daddy." The media turned it into a Royal Mongolian Wesson Party just like this week. Haslam told Summer's Eve to hire Dooley and then put Butch Jones in as next coach.

The common denominator is the AD/Haslam tie.
