Is Bru the second coming of JJ

Bo Jackson, …….. ‘85 Vols say hello!
Was actually trying to reply to above quote listing Jackson as a dog. I watched him not return to the field that day.

Yeah, but see, even a Dire Wolf had bad days. It didn't take away the fact they were dangerous animals.

Nope, not a JJ. JJ was a Pitt bull - Rottweiler hybrid. Such creatures are rare. They come in the likes of Dick Butkus, Jack Ham, John Riggins, Larry Csonka, Jerome Bettis, Earl Campbell, Bo Jackson, Jim Brown, and Bronko" Nagurski.

McCoy could end up being a Calvin Johnson or Terrell Owens (without the baggage and drama).
I liken them both to TO..on the field. People give TO a lot of crap but most if not all of his issues were off the field, actually that's kinda true for both these guys as well. They are different players but all have similar statures and playstyles. Calvin Johnson I dunno totally different playstyle..

I'm just saying I like the energy and attitude the guy has. Honestly I like the kind of guys this staff has brought in through the portal. Look at Velus and Javonte how they came in and contributed in positive ways on the field and in the case of Velus, had a direct impact on this year's squad (Hyatt). The seeming brotherhood even between Milton and Hooker. It's just a totally different energy.

Been impressed with early. Have seen him get tough yards and go deep.
Exactly. One play does not make him JJ or KWashington.
He looks good. I think his ceiling is much higher than either Jennings or Washington. It is now up to him and Hooker.

I’m not ready to compare him to Jennings but I did think he might be able to be that third down dependable wr much like Jennings was. The toughness though of Jennings? Idk, I don’t see that yet.

McCoy had 3 catches vs Ball St. and 4 catches vs Pitt. Doesn't have 100 yds receiving on the year and I'm not sure he had that many targets in either game. Looks good coming on the field and is very talented but he needs to produce more before comparing him to Jennings.

I remember Butch claiming that no player, no matter the size would come at JJ and how he almost beat the piss out of Martin for mouthing off in a meeting. Jennings was raised by a cop and he’s just different.

Speaking of JJ, he led San Francisco in receiving Sunday.
Not surprising at all. JJ is one of my favorite Vols of all time. He talked the talk but backed it up on the field. He may play the receiver position but he is just a damn football player. Put him where ever you want on the field and he’s going to ball out. Bru may become that type of player but JJ is a bad dude.

In the Pitt game Bru made 2 plays that made me think of JJ the third down play where he steamrolled the DB to get past the marker. And of TD where he got forced out of bounds but fought back to get the TD. He just seems to have a level of dog in him.
Bleav in Tennessee pod says no and their tired of hearing it😒

I believe their skill sets are pretty similar. Bru probably has more natural ability as far as speed, strength, athleticism, etc. Hopefully he has close to the amount of toughness, heart, and big moment capabilites as JJ. The willingness to get that first down is a good sign.
